Retirement....The Job I Was Born To Have!

Okay, this is it. My last day. I'm going in, drink coffee, eat doughnuts........collect my retirement set of doubles,....... come home about noon and spend the rest of the day playing with my new truck and avoiding mowing the lawn....

Hey! I'm retired........ I'll get to it whenever.........

Good working at ABF. All in all, not a bad company to spend my last 25 years in.

Of course I'll still post on here......... what else would I have to do at 5:30 in the morning?

Good luck to all you gentlemen on here........ I hope you guys get a great contract next year. I'll be working with Local #30 on their proposals. Last time we presented 47 proposals, and not a single one made it to our contract....... mainly because our so-called Two Man committee was struck dumb by the power and majesty of her boss , Mr. Hoffa, and forgot to present them to the negotiating committee......

Ain't gonna happen again........

Gotta go now.... I hear Sears is having a sale on polyester pants, belts and suspenders, and flat hats......I better stock up....

Best wishes Canary, I've been retarded 27yrs, biggest problem you will have now is this,
you will work all day long and never know when you are finished
Please continue to share your thoughts and wisdom.

Congratulations, Sir, good luck and I hope you enjoy your hard earned retirement. I do hope that you'll swing by and keep in touch with us and share your wit and wisdom. I didn't think that ABF issued retirement trucks anymore, you must be special...
They never stopped giving the trucks to retirees...just switched to a different vendor when Winross went out of business.

Thank you all Gentlemen, for the congratulations. And I fervently hope that each one of you that isn't retired yet safely reach this stage.

And for those that are already retired,....... Thanks for welcoming me to my new fraternity!

Work is an aberration......... it is not a natural state of affairs....... I have now returned to my natural state,..... the one I was in just prior to my being forced into kindergarten some,... ahh,... oh, never mind how many years ago.......and started the path of drudgery where we had to listen to someone else tell us how to structure our days.........

Free, now....... I just threw away all my wristwatches........ I'm going to use a sundial.....

You look much more relaxed already, you're wearing it well. And I don't think you'll even need a sundial, just stay in tune with your stomach and as old as you are you can tell by where the sun is in the sky if you'll have enough time to get that next project done.

Yep, you are on the right track, my watch retired same day, also gave away my "furniture" as you called it with CB still attached.

BTW you guys are really, really showing your age with the watch chatter, watches went out when cell phones came in. I'll bet that you both still have land line too, don't ya? Rotary dial? Party line?

You gotta lot room to talk about age when you mention Party Lines.
No land line , I do have friends that have both.
You remember getting chewed out dialing before listening?
Bet we have some on here that don't.

ROFLMAO Sorry, amigo, when we had that party line the phone hung on the wall about about 5' 6" and all I could reach was that spiral cord that hung down to the floor. And I do not remember how many rings were ours but I knew that there was a difference and to this day I remember who the other party was that was on it and approximately what house was theirs.
