ODFL | Miles per center location

No way... I'm a 600lb line driver, you'd need the jaws of line to get me out of that sucker!!

Next time use the back roll up door!!!! It's big enough where you wont get stuck. Dangit son.

I transferred out of PHX in 06. I'm in PDX. Brother try to look for a break bulk terminal. We run East, North and South. You of course would be on the extra board, but with a break bulk you move up fast. Our shortest run is Seattle with the longer runs being MEO and Klamath Falls. Bid is annually by seniority. Out of PDX, both 84 and 5 are triples lanes. You get .02 more a mile plus the extra drops and hooks. You have to be certified though. This is a great time to start asking. Most of the extra board is being turned in 10 and covering vacations. Winter you'll probably be doing a bag run to Boise. Any questions, let me know. And yes some tractors are turned up. It depends on the run and state speed limit. None of ours are though, it's 55 in Oregon.

What is considered a break bulk terminal or I guess what difference is between versions? Most guys I've been saying expect probably 2-3 years on extra board. Even then might be a night bid or always looking to work the 6th to make up miles. Mileage hasn't been a issue extra board so far out of Denver. But sounds like some places you spend more time sitting or just doing low mile runs for a while.

Denver is break bulk. PDX is, SLC, SAC all are. Break bulk, is where freight comes in on break trailers and is swung onto direct relays to final destination or swung on other breaks. Yes 2 to 3 is a good time range. Yes night runs on extra board. Don't believe everything that you hear from everyone. I wait due to my bid. No meet partner, no real gate, a lot of turning in 10. We have a excellent dispatcher that knows how to run freight.

What did you ever do to that game people play in the pool Marco Polo to make him go away? Wink

Haven't seen that dispatcher in years.

Was wondering if there is any info on different centers, runs available for that location/miles per run? Considering most freight moves east to west, would a location like Seattle be limited on potential? Currently out of Denver and have all 4 directions of travel. She is in Arizona but hates the summer heat, I wouldn't mind a dry climate lol. Just comparing areas with my girlfriend so whenever I can transfer we pick the best location for us to live in.

One thing to keep in mind is SEA is end of the line, extra guys have gotten hungry in the past. SLC will keep you busy, Boise is going to be a break point soon, still not sure how all the runs are going to shake out once they become a break and when the north Utah terminal is completed, which is where the Boise meets will come from. A lot of it depends on if you like chaining, I know in Denver you get your fair share, but the North West is an interesting ball game. Running from Boise to PDX, HER or SEA has its challenges and vis versa. Or you can try city and work your way to a long peddle run that will provide you with a lot of hours. Spokane is nice as well.
