Guess you haven't heard, Billy's grass cutting days are over, used his OT and bought two goats.
I was confused when I first saw this post, before ppl started responding. I was wondering why you would move from one company to another. I assumed there was another reason you had not stated. If it is simply for better retirement and bennies, I really don't see the reason to make such a change with the amount of seniority you already have. You would be losing a whole lot more than gaining - actually you probably wouldn't be gaining at all.
Kind of what someone else mentioned, most of the LTLs are relatively the same in regard to benefits and retirement. Pensions can't be trusted. And all the 401k programs with company match are similar enough. The only major difference I would see in regard to health care is the free health care SAIA offers after 10 years service. For me, that can be a game changer. But personally, I already have years of seniority in at my terminal for linehaul, and I'm not starting over for free health care that doesn't kick in till after 10 years of service, even though I have a good 15+ years left of working till retirement.
You've been around a while, do you really think there's much of a difference in retirement and health care, enough to jump ship with all the years you have in at your company? Surprised you'd even ask that question.

I guess you could call it kinda burned out.
Yeah, I can understand that for sure. The grind can be a blessing and a curse. No surprises are nice, but sometimes monotony can be like chinese water torture.
Everyone even gets burned out at OD until September raises come around every year. You work at a place that's much more relaxed. Here it is a numbers game with puke college kids running the show bean counting your every move. We have line drivers crashing into buses of cheerleaders, won't be long until we have cameras facing us to go along with all these other electronics in our trucks. You'll make a few cents more per mile, work weekends, be on call, starve for 3 months after Christmas all while the cheap Congdons sit on luxorious golf courses smoking fine cigars and sipping on brandy.

AP: GBO-Cedar Rapids: BD-Singh Consulting LLC released a statement today confirming the purchase of Old Dominion Freight Lines (OD) by CRST Expedited (Gold Hotel) in a 12 billion dollar deal to be concluded by the end of the year. To make it easier on the OD drivers to dovetail in, they will be allowed to text and drive. Also knocking construction cones around with the rear box is also allowed. BRG-Patel Consulting confirms that certain drivers from the northwest will have to ride along with a special weekend team to learn the "ropes" of the new expedited system. Which may require them to wear bags over their heads.
BRG-Patel also said all of the new,Team Gold drivers will be equipped with pee bottles strapped inside their left pant leg, so they will be able to drive 15 percent longer daily.
