ODFL | Wage meeting

So FedEx, Saia, XPO... Non of them ever get raises??All of these company's are within a dollar either way of OD. And all pay some kind of OT.
I'll take that bet by the way.
UPS pays more hourly and has a superior benefit package to OD. AND pays OT, AND has scheduled raises.

Worked 12 today.I talked to a friend of mine that work's at FedX.There top pay here is the same has we make.Maybe a dime more.Right now he is getting about 10 hour's of OT a week.
Maybe thats all he wants. After about 14 hours of OT, Uncle Sam starts to really chip away at your take home.

Hourly is 21.77. We have about 160 drivers on the city board.

OT is a beautiful thing if we can get it. However, our current wages at 50 hours straight time pays far more than 50 at this wage, OT after 40.
$27.93 X 50 Hours = $1395.50. 50 hours at $21.77, (40 straight time and 10 OT) = $1197.35.

You're comparing us to union companies that took a huge pay cut a few years ago. Fed Ex, Xpo, Saia and others are close enough that they are definitely making more than us. $100 to $150 per week more.

Don't see too many Ups freight guys around. I see more purchase transport pulling their equipment than anything. Don't paint a perfect picture driver. Which company post increases in earnings year after year? Which company has lost earnings? Union doesn't stop ups from cancelling your run and giving it to an owner op vs OD who uses almost none.
Union is superior, if u work for Parcel.

First off, I dont think UPS has posted a loss in several decades. Their quarterly earnings are sometimes more than OD's annual revenue. But I digress. The post was about OT which doesnt apply to the road. You brought pts into it which is a road issue and doesnt apply here.

First off read what I wrote, UPS "freight" and don't think, just do some research. I realize you are talking about OT, seems to always be the topic from outsiders even though the thread is about "wage increase." You have a company which has come a long way but always want to point out flaws such as OT. Drivers making over $100k a year but OT is your issue? How bout you worry about getting back YRC employees their 15% back. Or at least replace equipment from the 60's?

OT was brought up by an OD employee. Read the whole thread on this public forum

There's no city driver making 100k who isn't earning ot. I'm confused why you line boys don't want to see us do better. Our jobs are much harder than yours but y'all always get the bigger pay raise.

And to you outsiders talking about what some junk company like upsf does, remember there are only drivers who work OD and everyone else is a driver who wants to work for OD. Most desired company in trucking is od.

Coming from a UPSF driver its sad but true. I know I admire OD and Fedex freight because y'all are growing fast and y'all don't use outside contractors while drivers over here sit at home so sometimes the grass isn't always greener on the other side Brother.

As a line driver I agree P@d should be paid OT at least over 45. Either way it's the best company I've ever worked for. Improvements could be made but highly doubt the grass is greener any where else.

I don't have a dog in this hunt, but I think you are stretching this just a little.
Do you realize what we drove in the 60's?
You are right about getting the pay and bennies back on track.

So true. And, you have to also look at who is hiring and providing jobs and who is shrinking. Only 3 years ago UPSF was larger than OD. Now, look how that has changed. They continue to shrink their LTL share. Parcel is growing but not the LTL side. In the last several yrs OD has passed ABF, Estes, UPSF, and last year OD passed YRC National....

I have a friend who works at UPSF. He tells me it doesn't seem like they even WANT to be in the freight business.
