I guess it depends. Usually a fix it ticket is a warning. A flat could of happened, a overweight it depends. A driver here got a out of sequence ticket at a scale. He's going to be held responsible due to the fact he didn't weigh the trailers correctly. Never trust the manifest weight. Weigh it. I've had 3000 lb trailers be heavier than a 17,000 on the front.

Unless you hear/see/feel that tire blow, it's hard to tell when it happened. I've returned from a trip and during my post-trip noticed the inside right tire on my rear box was flat. Hmmmm...wonder when that happened.
 
I drove one time with a flat on a trailer for over 300 miles, but they didn't have the air up system on the tires. And I hadn't stopped so I didn't know. Was on the phone with a friend of mine who was waiting for me in Laredo, was still on the phone with him as I drove in the yard, he started laughing because I was pulling a tail... the cap was wrapped around the ICC bumper.

That being said, the inflation system should have notified him of the flat, either the light on the side or the air rushing through the system... and if you don't give your tires a bump every stop or 2 in the city you really should. Lots of hazards you can run over in town.

Amen to that! Lots of hazards...parked cars, emergency vehicles, unicorns, Bigfoot, and even the occasional blind person in the crosswalk.
 
Never heard of a driver getting a ticket for a flat tire. Especially not knowing when it went flat.
 
I enjoy the look on their face after they bounce off my rear tandems. with bent tire and rim they say how do I get home from here?
