Yellow | Is Amazon a YRC customer?

I realize this is only one specific example, but for instance: I was doing a 10 hr break in Missouuri, 5 hrs from my home. 5pm, on Amazon, I ordered a used cell phone from Long Island N.Y., and a case for it from Dallas Tx. Both deliveries got to my house before I Did the next day. Shipping was free to me. YRC can't do that....

Most Teamsters in LTL wouldn't last at UPS. Then again no Teamsters in LTL make the kind of money Teamsters at UPS make. Do you come to work to do as little as possible or to make as much as possible? Your choice.
Eventually I realized I was putting in too much effort for an LTL carrier. All they did was take advantage and work me more. Don't have to worry about that anymore. Not making the big bucks yet, but I'm getting there.

Yrc would have probably missed the pickup..

Owning a small business, I'm a Amazon prime member. I have everything from supplies and machinery delivered to our in home office. All shipping is 2 day or less. Everything is delivered by FedEx ground. Either signed for or left on the porch. Also I heard that they came to us (Ltl company) with a proposal. Corparate turned them down.

They have an agreement with xpo now. A pilot project. They are on our dock at 4:00am.

Jimmy, you may be right about YRC, but not CRST, since the Gold Hotel has been turned up, this would be no problem for Wong and BRG.

I am guessing you are a Prime customer? I am too cheap to pay the 79 bucks or whatever it is and I try and buy from Ebay whenever possible, but when I do order from Amazon, not Prime, they are slower than molasses. We have a large distribution center for Amazon about two hours from my house and I know sometimes it will come from another distribution center or even a shipper direct, but it takes approximately ten days for it to arrive. Lets say on average it is five hundred miles and it takes ten days......sounds like the perfect job that YRC and it's affiliates that they can handle! Amazon get's someone else to do the Prime stuff and we get all the not Prime stuff....a win win for everybody!

Maybe that's there incentive to get you to join their club. Just like the cash lanes on the turnpike, they hold us hostage in long lines to pay while the sleazypass users wizz past us.

I'm not, my wife is. She gets about 4 deliveries a week, so it's a bargain.
