Yellow | 2019! It's On!

Already hearing our contract will be along the lines with ABF. I'm sure that will also be -15 percent. I hope they buy a lot of padlocks,I for one don't want to start all over but, It is time to put up or shut up for the company. The management at Holland is pathetic, they hire what ever walks thru the door with a pulse. If management can have their concessions back so can we or shut the damn doors period.

You do understand that if they shut the doors and you have to "start over again" it will most likely be at a non-union LTL operation. It's not the 1970's just in case you haven't noticed and the "nons" are growing at our expense.

Not trying to be a butt,at this point with my 17 years meaning nothing I really don't care.

This guy is in management he no teamster so don't listen to anything he has to say. There is no teamsters that is this big of a pansy he's one of those that think you should get a trophy for last place. Don't work hard to make someone else rich there enough to go around for all and if you have a CDL the worst thing if they shut down is you get a raise.

Aw, gee whiz. I knew I'd get caught eventually. Yes, I'm in top management at YRCF. What a genius you are that you finally caught on to me.

Ha.
Follow the freight.
:17142:
Every experienced driver at Holland or YRC could walk on and start the next day at just about any company if we went down. The market is a drivers market at present. Company's are only getting driving school candidates as it is, many of these will not survive long in the industry as it is and company's that would get the freight would welcome drivers that have experience.

Sure starting over sucks no matter where you go and for many it would be a shock to their system to actually have to work again :) but YRCW won't have much to offer in 19' under the current conditions of the corporation.

Just take a gander at the equipment alone.. you can only run 15-17 year old tractors for so long

The first sentence, of your second paragraph is very accurate, Toby.

I was just speaking the truth if they shut down.
The freight has to go somewhere.
Only problem is. If it is a problem at all.
And they will keep it in the back of their mind if they hire Yrc and Holland.
Union drivers.
Ex-uniion drivers.

I had no idea you were management. I am retired. I need 4 hours a day @ 24.50 an hour to answer the phones. What do ya say? I will even buy lunch every day. Talk about incentives!!! Oh, just like when I was working, a 4day work week should be my schedule, so I don't have to mark off every Friday morning. I do enjoy my camping. von.

My dispatcher once asked me how I knew I was going to be sick 14 hours before my start time. I told him I was psychi. He didn't like my response & told me to get out of his office. But, my response did gain something. He never asked me that question again.

I recently told my Ops Mgr I needed off to renew my CDL. Because of heavy volume at DMV, I was unable to schedule an appointment within 30 days. I requested a vacation day off to take my Haz-mat test and renew. Because of 10%! off rule, request denied. No problem, sick day, instead. Got letter for absenteeism the day of my appointment at DMV, a Friday. Monday, confirmed with payroll clerk, that previous Friday was SPD. Monday was scheduled off, BH. Ops Manager told me, I did not request 'sick' day, or call in. I told her DMV supersedes all. I had already made written request that had been denied and had communicated circumstances.

How can I 'request' a sick day ahead of time? You're psychic, I choose not to be, sometimes. :17142:

They kind of hate it when you do it right in asking for a day off. Then later you can show they denied it and you can show them the receipt. When you start a file on management & they complain about it, ya know you are doing something right. von.

My experience has been, the Nons ignore exunion guys applications. Some Estes terminals will. Maybe Dayton Freight. Good luck getting a reply from Saia or OD. Ive been out of the Teamsters 9 years, last chargable accident 1977. Millions of safe miles. Only thing i can see is that i worked 22 yrs as a Teamster....

They are all liars.Any company can shut down for any reason at any time. But please YRCW give us a 30day warning if you do decide to shut the cash cow down
There is no way YRC will give a 30 day warning. The pissed off employees would tear the place apart. Think of the High School Senior class & what they all do on the final school day. Now, think of grown men who have been beaten down over the years by their employers. No, Yrc is smarter than that. Like CF. Come to work & find the gates locked. If you are lucky, they will escort you to your tractor or locker to retrieve your personal belongings. Then call or stop by the Local. They will have all the phone numbers for their Lawyers which will go right to voice mail. Now pray for divine intervention, for that is the only thing of any substance left. von.
