Holland | What's going on with the company ?

I don't think UPS even has the Overnite buyout straight yet...i think the only thing we have in common with ups is the fact our tractors will be their shade of brown soon, from the rust..
Agree , the local UPS Freight barn ,has NOT grown or taken off at all , hell we miss more pick-up's & Del. ,then they even make in a week !

If that picture proves to be a sign of things to come we will not know it until 4/1/19. A change of ownership before that date would trigger the clause in the MOU that would end the 15% wage reduction.
Don't get your hopes up. New owners would have a vote on new contract before sale went thru.

Every time I see a broker pulling a union trailer I just shake my head in disgust.
I would be inclined to agree, with the exception of transborder agreements. Plus, there are union brokers out there.

Private unions in Canada don't have anywhere near the appeal they do in the US. Our government has enacted laws that prohibit unjust termination and other abuses unions are meant for, so Canadians are less inclined to want union work. Even as a broker at Speedy, I have access to a good benefits package through the company and we are treated fairly and paid well.

So if it's a Speedy pulling that Holland, it's what we're there for as Holland's Canadian representation since 1996. We also worked with Red Star and Dugan before their respective closures, and I personally remember the TNT days, seeing Holland and Red Star trailers pulled by Overland Express in my hometown.

I smile a little whenever I pull an orange/blue stripe Holland. I miss when it was a common sight. My dad worked for TNT back when the orange stripe was everywhere.

With Severe Manpower shortage ,not looking good for Holland to make it till 2019 ......................r.i.p.

Picture kinda says the way Holland being run lately !

Really thinking YRCW is trying to run us in the ground like they did to Preston & Sacia & few other ones , as they have a histry of buying companies and sucking all the money they can out of them and then dump em ! , Just like this week short trucks & trailers & driver's and 3 more Driver's Quit & a Supervisor too ..............................................r.i.p. 2019.........................

Doesn't being short of trucks and trailers show that you have a very high volume of freight? If I was running a company that would be what I would strive for. Drivers come and go, they sure do not have any probems getting bodies to go through orientation in Indianapolis all the time. As far as drivers quitting I guess if you told us how old they were and how long they were with the company and if they retired or went somewhere else it would enlighten us on why they left. I have worked for two companies that went bankrupt and I just don's see any of the signs of a company that is going to rip in 2019. I guess if you could explain in a little more detail what YRCW is doing to run us into the ground I might be able to see your point of view. I think Preston and Saia were very different animals and handled much differently. Please explain your thoughts on running into the ground. Thanks!

Ok , What is the purpose of a trucking company ? To pick up & delivery freight on time right ? So yes we are overwhelmed with freight , some that ::shit:: "amazon" freight , But HOW can run a trucking company IF you don't have the Equipment to do the job ? and as to how YRCW is running down the company ? Just look at what Holland has become ? It's a Bottom feeder company that can't hire nobody ! YRCW has taken away the most Important thing of all and that's our Holland PRIDE !! and our -15% pay & weeks vacation pay & pension and our stack of Driver apps we had in the old days of Holland Pride !! YRCW has a history of being a money sucking leech !!!

After not buying new equipment for several years Holland has added hundreds of trucks three years in a row, do we still have too many old and run down trucks, yes but we have made great strides in the last three years and I hope if they continue this for three more years we will be in pretty good shape for the future. As far as not being able to hire anybody, at my barn we have a larger board than we have had in many years because we have been hiring drivers all the time, I am kind of surprised how many guys we have been able to get lately. Holland Pride I am not going to address because I guess that is up to you if you have Pride in your work or not. I still don't see why we are going to RIP in 2019.

junk truck junk trailer no pallet jacks no load bars what that tell you pick up freight they weight it they measure it then they hold it then 4 or 5 days then they give it to a cartage company what up with that

Those who drive nice trucks at night don't have to deal with the junk equipment and the pissed off customers........so eff everyone else is their motto.
International Brotherhood of Meesters.

Holland needs a Merger or Acquisition very SOON to save it , so maybe one will happen soon ??http://www.truckinginfo.com/channel...ave-of-trucking-mergers-and-acquisitions.aspx
From that article Wong there are two things that stand out. One is at the end where it mentions a well run company with freight up to date that the management will stay.

We all know our freight throughout the system at all divisions is not up to date. Recently whether it's true or not, I heard we are at 64% on time and our claims ratio is up higher than in the past.

The second was where it mentioned outside players. What I can garner from that goes against the rumor of Brown buying us. For one the Overnight accession still has not panned out the way they hoped. Two is the mix of UPS shying away from The Union in general. So outside player? Amazon? Uber or Google both jumping into freight and brokerage? They have deep pockets and large backers.
