Hey everyone, I have a interview in Charlotte this afternoon for LineHaul Driver. Any information on this terminal and what the starting rate for LineHaul is would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Not sure what the starting rate is now, probably around 55-56¢ per mile. Top out is 64¢ per mile and it takes 18 months to top out (raises at 6, 12, and 18 months). Charlotte is a decent sized hub, so you should stay pretty busy. You will probably start out as a system driver that stays out all week covering extra freight. Although they may have open runs and you may get a bid right off the bat. Definitely something to ask the TM about.

Just be forwarned about the in-cab cameras we have in the trucks now. Management likes to leave out that little fact when they hire new drivers, and most new guys have been caught off guard by it in training.

Yes i would be running the system if I were to get hired. The TM did tell me about the cameras in the tractor. Thank you for the information I really appreciate it.

I'm curious...why are they leaving CLT?
Most likely the cameras. But I don't understand why because they have dialed them back significantly and only coach drivers with the same repetitive negative driving behavior or really serious infractions such as a cell phones or seat belts. These cameras have made me a much safer driver as I look back in hindsight. I rarely trigger an event.

Let me also add that I have these cameras down to a fine art. Having driven them from day one all I can say is you just master them with experience. I understand everyone's reluctance to drive the camera trucks but you do get use to them and they do have an upside rather you want to believe that or not. The primary gripe is the Bluetooth policy. That's not my call. I have just learned to adapt.
