XPO | Pay Scale

The health care is crap. You can get this anywhere. There is no retirement. So there is nothing holding you here at all. It's just a paycheck.

So really 6-8 years doesn't amount to much of anything. You can't hold much better than most the new guys and won't be moving up any time soon. The old timers can't afford to retire. Because they had their pension stolen and health care is obscene.

Then throw in about driverless trucks and this guy Jacobs and everything he says. And you ain't gotta be that smart to start checking out your options. Which is good. Cause we ain't that smart. You've seen what gets pulled around into that shop. We ain't gotta tell you.

To be clear, the pension was frozen. I retired about 4 years ago. I'm getting my pension. When they froze the pension, I started putting more into my 401(k), and Con-Way upped the match for a while, so I'm doing OK. I didn't retire until I was eligible for Medicare, so health care is OK too.

My advice to you is don't depend on your employer or the government to fund your retirement. Save and invest.

By frozen. What do you mean ? Are you getting the full value ? For what period of time does your benefit extend ? Did you ask all the questions or just assume without knowing ?

Got word from a FedEx driver on Friday that it was $1.00 and went into effect on Friday.

They have geographically wages. So it's pretty well impossible to say one thing across the board for them. The ones I spoke to were pleased to be getting raises and happy they didn't go cheap and only give 25 cents or some ::shit:: .

We have a geographical wage and when we got our raise it was the same across the board.

Not the same animal. We have a handful of wages. 4 ? Not sure. They have different wages for each and every terminal. At least that is how it is explained to me. And from what I have heard some got 75 cents an hour. Others got a dollar. And of course, this is all word of mouth. Around here they make plenty more than we do and don't mind reminding us of it.

Yes, not everyone gets the same raise. The company only pays what they have to, market value.

By "frozen" I mean that the company stopped contributing to it, but the money already in the account stayed there.

I am getting full value, for the rest of my life (and my wife's, if she outlives me).

I never assume without knowing.
