See, and if they would've implemented that a couple years ago, I'd probably still be there.ALL ROAD DRIVERS

Would it if it was agreed to in contract negotiations?A change of operations would have to happen either way.
Contract negotiations only set work rules for the most part. At least so far. I don't see anyone, company or union, rewriting the whole contract. Why would ABF want anything they can't change for the next 3 to five years anyway?Would it if it was agreed to in contract negotiations?
Most boards are separated on seniority between road and city here. But could be a problem for the places that have one seniority list.be careful what you wish for.
when Dayton Freight got rid of most laydowns after the HOS changes, there was a rush of city drivers that jumped to linehaul, and bumped down lots of long-time road drivers that were hoping for daytime linehaul.

Three years is the norm throughout the union world except for the teamsters, they're too lazy to be bothered every three years. If anybody grew any balls, though, it could turn to bite them in the ass. See...the window when workers can decertify is limited. It's limited to a small window of like 30 days before the contract expires oooorrrrrrr after you've worked under a contract for 3 years. So...with grumblings of dissatisfaction and a 5 year contract the guys would have two full years to sell their notion of :: canning the teamsters and finding a different union to represent us. And don't forget, we're not associated with the airlines so one terminal could decertify all by themselves and I'll bet you that the company would treat them very well just to set an example. For one thing , I would like them negotiate a two or three year deal.
Some supplements allow crossover and lost of seniority for a year and a day. Most boards are separated on seniority between road and city here. But could be a problem for the places that have one seniority list.
Local 238 Des Moines/Cedar Rapids is a single board as an example. You can bid anything there. Some supplements allow crossover and lost of seniority for a year and a day.
