ODFL | Automatic Transmissions

Anybody remember driving a super 10? Those were fun especially watching newbies outta trucking school try to pull out of yard onto street.

That was probably my favorite transmission. Used to pull rail containers for an owner/op and that truck would fly.

"Click it n rip it"... had no idea how to shift it, then I got forced onto a bid at FedEx and into a tractor that had that transmission in it. Got home and YouTube it. Went in on Sunday a put about 100 miles on that sucker in the parking lot. After I got it figured out I really enjoyed it. Still prefer it to our straight tens, plus nobody would use it. Loved rolling in and having a guy walk up to your door saying he was gonna use your truck. I'd grab my bag and lunch box then just stand there for a second. Watch the guy put all his stuff in and fire it up (no pre trip of course) go to put it in reverse and immediately look at the knob. After explaining how it works they would usually grab their stuff and run for it. Some guys would try, poor souls..

If you've driven a unishift or monoshift, they're pretty much the same.

Knuckles I know damn well who you are and must say you are more old school than 90 percent of the drivers at our barn.
