Depends on the run. Pay is the mileage rate while driving and p&d hourly rate while working the dock. I did better on combo when I was there. I would choose that over p&d myself.

In my neck of the woods SEFL is cutting 1 to 2 drivers almost daily yet the combo guys never get cut. So that is another plus in favor of combo. Of course every terminal is ran differently so yours might differ.
Combos at our terminal still work the dock every day. When they rotate it's only the driving part they don't do, they just go home when they're done with the dock
