XPO | Our final 10 yrs

A nickel and a cup of coffee will take you about as far!!!
As Others have said, I am not relying on one or two sources of income for retirement. Hard to say how I’m really doing, but I definitely don’t save 15% in my 401k as T Rowe Price recommends. I’m just hoping there will be social security benefits when the time comes!

We have different funds .
Not all of us are as fortunate as you... most of us would fall in CSPF. Some brotherhood, I got mine, screw everyone else.
We have different funds,You got your end of year notice on your fund just like everyone else.I worked for some employers that didn't contribute a dime to central states ,they weren't in your area. You could have run for a trustee just like everyone else .I am sorry your fund is broke I don't manage or have a say what happened there you do.I may be a part of the sheep herd ,but no body pulls the wool over my eye's

I'm not even in the union, never have been. The fact that I live in an area that is in CSPF is one of the big contributors to my decision to remain union free. If it actually provided a benefit I would be all for it, but there is no benefit to being in the Teamsters nowadays.

Also, I've always wanted to try my hand at carhaul, but I wouldn't work for Cassens or Jack Cooper, they're in CSPF as well. At least I get a match on my 401 from my employer, plus a yearly profit bonus into my retirement. In the Teamsters 401 you get no match because they're paying into your pension. There will be nothing left of CSPF when I'm old enough to retire.

I hope you have at least some sort of savings or investment ,other than a 401 k ,And don't count on social security, because by the the time your ready to retire or stop working that will be broke too.Thank you politicians for that, and the republican administration has no plans to fix social security. So your probably going to have to work past 70.

Yes, I have savings beyond my 401. And you're right, social security is probably will be broke. I don't know what can be done to fix it, but putting it back in that lockbox they were so proud of and keeping their hand out of it would be a good start. I fully expect that I will have to work beyond 70. Sucks, but that seems to be the American way anymore. Sure would be nice for there to be a balance between being a world economic power and working ourselves into the ground.

I think you are right about SS, but if I have to work until I’m 70 (even as a greeter at Wal-Mart), I’ll probably die first!

I'm gonna call bullshit on that, before cspf became the reason not to be in a union you would have left con job without saying goodbye for a union job.

You young guys won't take a stand or stick together,I guess it's all about me myself and ,I .This didn't happen when I started in this industry some 40 years ago We stood together and you did what the senior guys told you do.and we all prospered. You'll have to figure out a way to save for your golden years and hope you don't get sick, you insurance won't cover everything.

CSPF has been in trouble for longer than I've been in the LTL, friend.
I am hearing that congress,The republican one is that is that they want to limit 401 contributions .According to the Trump tax plan. Before you knock what you don't have or you don't know. Please do your research. If you live in a glass house don't throw stones. :shakehandsnah::chairshot:

Another example of how the Republicans have nothing good in store for the working class. All you 401 k fans should be outraged.

Look at the shiny object while we rob you of any possibility of retiring. When is the working class going to have enough of it.
Disgusting.

So let me get this right Xpo reduced the 401k match for new employees and now a republican congress wants to cap your contribution limit. That ought to work real good for everyone.Thats real exciting.
Wake up people
