This out fit gave a the true meaning to 'East Bound & Down'. This outfit back then was NOT know for their slow trucks or drivers. They practiced the 'mash your motor' agenda on a daily basis. 80 mph trucks loaded with swinging beef will teach you how to brake very quickly. Or not. von.

Does anyone remember the heavy hauler from Ohio, I think it was Adkins?
Are they famous for that Army tank a driver was hauling in Ohio? He had no permits & grossed about 165,000. And this was back when the gross was 73,280. The fine was north of 50 grand. Sometime back in the late 70's or early 80's. von.

If I remember right they caught him on back roads, and he let them impound truck and he bought it back at auction cheaper than the fine?

That is exactly what happened. I think the Army came & got their Tank. I doubt that it went under the auction gavel. von.

It is now parked at Coop HQ. No one can see it though, because Big Dave puts his hat over it during the day while dispatching....

Thanks for your honesty, I'll be honest too, I just put in a call to Gen. George S. Patton's office to see if he offers a reward
for the return of his tank.
Hope you guys don't get any trouble over this, but times are hard and I can use a few extra bucks.

So who answered the phone? Was it Omar, or Dwight, or George himself? Or maybe even Triplex?

HOT OFF THE PRESS
It's official, YRC is throwing in the towel, closing the doors, all equipment will be sold as salvage except the tires.
A new company being formed, selling used tires will be called "TARS R US"
Any former employees will be given a 15% discount on purchases under $25
YRC says they would like to thank former employees for a job well done when all the tires are removed and sorted.
