I'm accusing all of you an-ti's of not bettering your life's or helping anyone else. Besides kissing company ass, what have you done to better XPO? Or are you also going to tell me. I do my job? Because we all do our job's.
Who the f##k do you think you are? You don't know us or our lives. Just because we don't to join you little union club does not say we aren't bettering our lives or helping other's. I look out for my fellow drivers everyday by doing my job to the best ability. I see these "it's all about me" attitude everyday and it does change who I am or how I do my job. I told one driver his truck was O/S and then saw him drive it right out the gate and this guy is on our safety committee. That drive has no care for the public or his fellow driver in anyway. Yet because we don't want or fell there is a need for a union, but in your eyes we are the bad guys that don't help others. I have been given trucks that were 2 gallons of oil low, had flat tires with the beads broken, lights out, and massive air leaks, but yet we are no good because we are anti-union. The one thing I wish they would do here is give everyone a hearing and eye test because we have some deaf and blind MFers working here.
The one big bitch that the union wants are clear work rules. When a barn votes the union in and the company fires someone for violating those rules you cry foul. Yes I talking about the drivers in Trenton. The union will say it retaliation, but for some reason the company review board saw it differently.
I all my years in this industry I have seen so union trucking companies and union factories close there door I lost count. I agree with Puff Driver that the unions have destroyed alot of good companies.
I have a hard time jumping into the union boat that is fill up with water faster then it can be bailed out.

While driving today, I heard some ads for car dealers. When a commercial for Mercedes or Chevy comes on, they talk about safety features, performance, reliability and the cost of ownership. They sell the product.
When a Kia ad comes on, they talk about financing for every one, no down payment, a chance to win a vacation or tickets to an event. They say a lot, but they tell you nothing while making a lot of noise.
The Teamsters are Kia.

That's where you're wrong. Most of the problems we have here is because someone is not doing their job. Whether it's management or drivers. This could all be changed by holding people accountable to do their job correctly, and that doesn't take a union. I know some gripe about compensation but outside of differing O/T rules and a better 401k contribution I think we are more than fairly compensated.

Separate from these issues,. Your self-righteous, holier than though attitude is wearing thin. You talk about being such a great philanthropist and doing so much to better others when you know the only reason you signed that card is because you hoped it would change your personal situation. That is the definition of selfish.

Be careful. They don't like when people speak the truth.

One question. He punches the clock just like we do and his boss tells him what to do. So to me he is kissing just as much ass as we do.

One thing I've learned over the last 138 pages is there's a set of rules for the union and another set for the other guys. Ironically, fair treatment is all anyone wants, and it's the guys looking to the union for help that have the double standard.

How did feel Con-way freezing ours ? Do you think they were being greedy to do that?
They bought another Truckload Company for I think the 3rd time, put in the Lean Program and added all those jobs at the General Office. That was for our own good ithe way upper Management seen it.The Pension was unsistainable they said. I think the way they wasted money, they would have crashed and burned eventually.

People not doing their job is a problem with all Companies, We have drivers that leave landing gear cranks extended when they drop a trailer LAZY!!

Interesting.
But let's be honest, with some of the lowest wages in the industry, by far the worst and perhaps most unsafe equipment of any large carrier. Bad working conditions, poor retirement prospects and virtually not future what is better a union LTL carriers???
It is over, Hoffa insures no additional LTL carrier would ever be organized...\
they are finished...

The union would protect those lazy drivers making things much worse.
How does the union protect workers that are not doing their job? How does that process work ?
I think its an easy scapegoat to blame your fellow workers for major problems in managements ability to attract and hire good workers. When the company lowers its standards to make up its shortfalls in attracting qualified drivers I don't see how it makes sense when the problem starts at the hiring point.
The same example works in are politics today. There's a ton of scapegoating and hate being perpetuated by a certain party to have you focus on everything but the real root of the problems. Corporate greed and the politicians that are in their pockets.
I know its easy to blame are fellow workers and say their not up to are standard, but who sets the bar?
When most of us were hired are former company set the bar high but we were compensated well and attracted a lot of experienced people. We were the best.
Now we all stand around blaming are fellow employees as if they should measure up to what we are or where while offering new employees nothing near what we had at one time. At are location we have a good bunch of guys who have respect for themselves and they are willing to learn and know for a fact theirs no defending someone who does not pull their weight union or non union. I do understand your point of view but I see it from a different place.
