Holland | No 34 hour restart

Was going to but NAW not touching that one
Come on. This is the internet. Life is a risk, so is posting. The worst that could happen is being banned for 24 hours. And then think of how much more time you would have for food, or say sex. Think of it this way. Right after supper you could work it off. Wouldn't she be a happy camper. von.

Sorry not buying it. You obviously don't understand how a log book works with a rolling 70 verses restart. No way a a restart hurts you. Way more good comes out of a restart than rolling.
If you run hard all week burning 11-12 hr days you will run out of your 70. Those zeros you will pickup the next week will force you to stay at home. You can’t run consistent miles hard one week low the next. Monday when you don’t pickup no hours central leaves you at home.

Kind of like the egg or chicken, who came first. Like, if she feed ya to much before bedtime, you can't perform for you are 'to tired'. But, if the happy time comes before the belly time all ya gonnat think is how soon to dinner. If that is the case she might not be the happy camper I spoke of earlier. Dam if ya do, dam if ya don't. von.

This makes no sense. If you run hard one week and low next you are gaining hours every day against your 70 hour total.
I think you are confused 34 hour restart means, 34 hours consecutive time off duty and your hours reset to 70/60 avalible which ever you use.

If you work five 13 hour days this would be 65 hours, take 34 hours off and you can work 14 hours first day back.

Next month when you start new log fill out recap on one page and restart on the another and you will see the difference.

Like I said, he doesn't understand the restart. Everybody is so worried about a junior man maybe getting More miles than him because they want to run hard. Meanwhile we got CRST pulling yellow trailers. These rules were were ratified in 2008/2009 when we were laying a bunch of guys off due to the recession. Times have changed. We have trouble finding drivers now and they're worried about a guy working what the federal dot says you can. If we don't change our pay isn't going to change. It'll be 15% forever.

Well said. I guess best way to sum this up is, would you rather have a union job move the freight within the guidelines of the federal law or a non union job move the freight within the guidelines of the contract.

If you run hard on fresh 70 central runs you hard up til Saturday (meaning your not top lining on duty time). You won’t have enough time to run out Sunday night if work is available due not enough hours and you have not been off long enough to get a 34. Meaning it averages out to the same amount of miles weekly. Just recap will get you clock time in bed if freight is heavy. When did Holland run just a five day dispatch?

The reset will leave junior man at home ( especially on hog board) recap allows all to have a fair share of pie. I thought that’s what we signed up for. If you read MOU you will see what PT is used for on YRC side (26%of all miles ran). You can check sign in/out to see what there running and if not in guidelines of language, grieve it and collect. Last time I checked GB RA and a couple out of IN didn’t get out Monday.

Glad to see you NEVER top line.

I guess I understand the reason behind it in line haul. Don't 100% agree with it but ok. Here's a question. Let's say you are out of hours according to the union contract on a trip. Can't make it to destination due to slow traffic or something. Say you had 13 hours to run said run and and the trip normally takes 11 so of course they sent you because it looked like you had enough time. But you blew a tire and and then got caught in traffic. But you are legal according to federal dot because you had 34 hour restart 3 days ago that you didn't take because a said union contract. You are 30 minutes away from destination. Out of hours union contract, legal Dot. Does company have to come get you, or shut you down and let freight sit. Either way costs money and time. Or do you run in because you won't get in trouble with the law.

You let them come get you. It doesn’t matter what the scenario is. Rules are rules.

You run it in. I am a retired Teamster & I can promise you the Local won't do anything to you. Unless you do it every day, every run. But every now & then? Run it in. Or ask your self, what is the value to you, to make them come get you or run it in? Decide which has more value to you, then do it. von.

You sit there on the clock til they come get you or get a room. More than likely if freight is due they will come get you. If two day no need to will make Service regardless.
