SAIA | Safety comes to it's senses?

I’m curious guys...how do they handle coaching in the dark terminals? Via telephone I assume?

I think it depends on the severity of the violation. And who knows if there is an actual blanket policy. Mine was face to face 3 weeks after the event. Other guys next day over the phone, with a suspension.

Wow. Pretty sure that would be a major point of contention, if not the tipping point to make me leave. If they take these cameras and the resulting coaching sessions seriously, then make a commitment to handle these situations face to face. For me, it's a matter of respect: The policy itself, the employee, the employer/employee relationship. Kinda tough to get your point across over the phone, IMO.

I would demand a face to face WITH the video or speak to my attorney

Agree 100% and there's definitely not much I can add to that. It's EXACTLY the same garbage that made so many drivers leave Con-Way. Now to see it happening over here is what made me so pissed off for so long. Even Con-Way wasn't this overbearing. They don't even use the cameras for discipline anymore because of all the pushback and turnover they got from it. They also couldn't care less if you use a CB or Bluetooth.

It's also exactly why I've been so anti-camera from the beginning. I knew it would just be a repeat of what I'd already went through. Mind you, even after all this, I still don't regret leaving Con-Way. At least our insurance over here is good and we don't spend half our lives on forklifts like they do.

Things aren't going to get any better for them as they retire more of the older trucks without cameras. There's tons of drivers that are only still here because they haven't been forced into a camera truck yet. It will be interesting to see how things go this spring, and if they really get rid of all the Internationals like they have been saying they will.

Well as far as con-way/xpo and becoming like them they have hired many upper management folks from there especially in the northeast so that would make semse

I could care less about forward facing cameras it works as a CYA for the company if someone does something stupid to cause an accident but the driver cam and audio recording is stupid I don't get it and all the anal rules that go with it
