Well, sure. A lot easier to be a mgr if you don't have to manage people or equipment.I prefer owning my own jack because I can take care of it and also community jacks type system is always junk.My jack is 11 yrs old and works great

R+L also fixes our jacks..Our jacks are sent to the shop for repair when they get worn, so that's not really a concern
Then why are they "junk"? If we send one out for repair it gets new wheels and even a pump if needed. Not trying to be a jerk, I just don't understand what the difference is. I mainly don't think it's the drivers who should bear the cost burden. I don't know if R&L makes up the compensation in other ways either. Maybe your insurance is cheaper or 401k is higher match is higherR+L also fixes our jacks..
It's $5 a week big deal and it's a tax write-off.besides do mechanics share tools ? No they spend thousands on thier own tools.i would rather have a jack that I know is going to work everyday day.dont make this out like you have to take out a second mortgage to get oneThen why are they "junk"? Since they open the California terminals the other Terminals and had different rules than what California haveWell like I said, in California you dont have to buy your jack, and the one they get you is yours only, it’s not a community jack, we lock them up every night with our own locks. Best of both worlds.
Do u you a pay raise every 6 month. It's true..What is pay for city drive

I don’t wanna use some POS that some stupid mother ****er broke the day before and didn’t tell nobody. R+L only has that problem with trucks, not pallet jacks. Then why are they "junk"? I would wonder where it wandered to.I've worked for two LTL's and at both the company provided me a new, assigned pallet jack that I lock up with my personal lock. I'm glad you all don't mind doing it, I just personally find it ridiculous.
I've had to leave mine behind doing pickups when loaded to where there is no room for it to go back on, and told dispatch I had to leave it. Fortunately, when I go back the next morning to pick it up, my customer has taken care to insure it doesn't wonder off in their warehouse. What would happen to an R&L driver if it did "wonder off"? Would he/she be required to purchase another jack again?

I see what you did there...I would wonder where it wandered to.
Ya all should know this answer. Why it's the 15% payroll reduction ya all agreed to a few years ago. By now they should have a nice escrow balance built up. vonWhen the pallet jacks are in the shop who pays for repairs?
If your asking who pays for repairs to the jacks at R+L? The light repairs are done by our mechanics, if they need more extensive repairs, they are sent to our HQ in Ohio and repaired, then sent back, and it is done free of charge. Our only cost is the initial purchase and any future purcases since they don't last forever. I'm on my 3rd one in almost 14 years. When the pallet jacks are in the shop who pays for repairs?

TD, find a fellow rank & file who has been there for @ least 5 years And ask him about the part where he did or did not vote for less pay. His answer might be your answer to 'what payroll deduction'. von. What payroll reduction?
No pay reduction here that I'm aware of.TD, find a fellow rank & file who has been there for @ least 5 years And ask him about the part where he did or did not vote for less pay. His answer might be your answer to 'what payroll deduction'. von.
