XPO | PTO and Points

Can someone explain to me pto time and points because I’m lost on how you call in get a point they take your pto or if there isn’t enough work take your pto and then pull your vacation without even telling you, calling you on your sch Monday start of vacation without any prior heads up and giving you a point if you don’t come back from your vacation that day. Example Monday is your start of your vacation off for the week, work line haul and TM calls at 3pm and leaves a message on that Monday saying you only have 20 hours of PTO so call back to be told what days you will be allowed off. If you don’t call or show up, you will be marked as a no call no show, or if you don’t come in you will be given a point.
.
We have had so many interpretations of the policy when it apply to pto and points over the few years I couldn’t tell you up from down when it comes to that. To many variables and changes to make sense of it , pretty much whatever they feel like at the moment , business levels and the alignment of mar and Jupiter. Good luck

Better yet I have a vintage magic eightball that we could ask .. let see ...

I think one of those is given to everyone in management.

Looks like they are soon to be handing out crystal balls.

The policy is on the employee portal. It’s spelled out in there.
It is spelled out there on how they may want to implement their policy. The disclaimer at the beginning says they can amend or change anytime they want without notification. They do what they want.

Policy is only policy when it fits what they are trying to tell you what policy is at that moment and only extends as far as that moment.

What really burns there azzes is when you use their policy against them. If you read the policy I sure you will find one that will fit you. I know driver that don't make residential deliveries because of the safety policy

That's really a shame that happened to you and I'm sorry that this occured.
This was what CW intended on 2009 when they went to the PTO system instead of the usual if you worked the required number of days the previous year you received the full allotment of vacation days for the next year plan. Under the vacation plan preceding 2009, the couldn't force you to take vacation time for being off sick, FMLA, etc. The PTO plan ensures that they can for you to use PTO for any absence of their choosing, all the way down to zero bank.
I also have heard (not factually) that company convenience days (CC's) will now be required to either use PTO or you will work. No more free days off.

Yet another reason I’m glad I’m gone.

Why do people work @ a place like that when they can do so much better some other place ? Boggles the mind. von.
A good number of people want to believe it’s still going To get better . It’s hard for them to believe it’s changed because they want so badly to think it will be good again.

I can think of a few reasons.
1) They are short timing it till retirement.
2) They don't want to join a labor union.
3) They like their bid.
4) They like their seniority and don't wish to give it up by starting over.
5) They have found a way to get along with mngmt and don't get picked on.
There are other reasons, I'm sure. I hope this helps, a little bit, to un-boggle your mind.

Do not want to give up so much vacation.
