XPO | Slipping bars

There’s a program coming out that will address a lot of the problems in the trailers. It also goes contrary to all the cut and gut speculation.

Many would argue that it's hard to consider things in progress as speculation.

But I am intrigued. And your lack of details hints at you expected to be disappointed.

I guess those interviews are working. The program isn’t anything earth shattering, but it’s going to make sure we’re doing what we’re supposed to be doing.

If they reinstitute the safe stack squad with the same losers that did it the first time, it will be an even bigger failure than it originally was.

LOL, but you do admit many were. And that the use of lazy, stupid idiots that didn't have the respect of the people who actually work, could have negatively influenced the program and it's concepts ?
I was a safestack SME because I like to train people. I agree 100% that you need the right people and that just doesn’t happen. I don’t think every service center has more then a few people (drivers or dock workers) that I would consider qualified to train anyone to do anything. I see a few dockworkers with the green vests on and let me tell you.... Anyway, I don’t wear the vest anymore and I keep my mouth shut and my head down. I only offer advice when asked.

Basically they’re going to require certain equipment be at every door. Shrink wrap, brooms, shovels, trash cans etc. every trailer is supposed to have all working bars and 8 straps. The kicker is there will be daily pass fail inspections and supposedly supervisors will be graded on this so it’s in their interest to have it done.

Who was interviewed and for what reason?
HR had interviews with most workers at our barn and other barns in the district. We were asked for opinions on the company, policy, local management and a few other things. I️ assumes this was company wide.

Head down and mouth shut. That’s a good way to be. Ain’t no making sense of some of what’s going on right now. We hear from the higher ups that it gonna be like this and that. And then we don’t ever see it.

There won’t be a good trailer in the door anywhere. When will they hire the mechanics to fix all these trailers ? And when will they send the bars and tools for us to replace the ones that we can ?

Are you kidding me ? They should have had them come here. We would have spent a week filling their ears.

That sounds like another program we had a few years back. I hope it works better this time.

Sounds like lean to me.

Was it outside people who held these meetings or your domicile hr people?

Sounds like a fishing expedition
We had meetings back in 2015 . We were told it was a new way company was going to do the employee survey. Yeah right... it was conducted by a company called Cruz and associates ( persuaders) They were on a fishing expedition. Now I’m not saying this is what is going on at your place but you have to keep your eyes open. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

This is one way they do surveys. They have done it at my barn. Normal a upper HR person comes in and has meeting with a percentage of employees and has standard question they must ask. We have a problem with some of our drivers, they talk a lot of ::shit:: in the yard but get them in a meeting they are as quite as a church mouse.

So in a round-a-bout way we are expected to do our jobs???? Well ::shit:: imaging that.
The whole damm thing will fall apart now with them expecting employees to do what they are paid to do.

Come on, be real! Flavor of the day. No money to pay people to keep this up, never mind that yeah, you won’t have too many pups to load where all safestack is functional. Shrink wrap and shovels and brooms at every door? Maybe at some, but not many. Managers don’t want to spend the money. On anything.

It must be a per barn thing. At my barn we have Shrink wrap, shovels brooms, tape, and trash cans between every other door. we also have dock hooks at every door and on every forklift and every door has a safe stack bar at it. That is one of the items the dockworks must do every day is check the supplies on the dock.
Take a little pride in where you work.
It sound like the docks are like truck drivers. You have the ones that have all kinds of ::shit:: piled on the dash and other spend a little of there own time to keep it clean.
