Now you’re talking part time vs full time...again, apples and oranges.

We, full timers, accrue vacation time by years of service with the company, we should be able to bid our vacation time by years of service with the company, regardless of job class seniority. We don’t accrue vacating time by job class seniority so why do we bid it that way?? By bidding through job class seniority, you’re actually punishing the employees for trying to better themselves IMO.
I agree with you!! For some reason they gave part timers senority when i believe senority should be the day that you become full time!!

Everybody PART time and FULL time accrues vacation by years of service, it starts at hire date. Not apples and oranges, fact. Nothing wrong with wanting to better ones self, just not at the expense of the man who took the risk before you did. IMO

I meant apples and oranges because I was referring to the drivers but since you want to drag in the part timers to try to make a point then fine, give them the opportunity to bid vacation by company seniority as we’ll seeing as how that would only refer to the dock and office since we don’t employee part time drivers. If a part time dock worker/office employee goes through the driver apprentice program, gets their license, and becomes a full time driver then they should also have the right to bid vacation per company seniority as well regardless of job class, works for me.

We have 4 part timer drivers at our center. I guess we're special.
We have several part time road drivers at my barn. Yup, a 150 mile turn puts lots of roof over your head and lots of groceries on the table.
Not to mention the extra board drivers that sit at home when it’s slow.

Wrong Swampy, I started here as part time. And because the driver development program is ongoing and not looking to be halted, significant numbers are possible. Especially at a large hub with a big part time group of employees.

As this is all speculation and the policy ain't changing it's opinion vs. opinion. Neither of us can lay a claim to being right. Nice try though!
May I suggest you guys let the corporate advice team, BRG Patel,conduct interviews,review policy,and perform in depth research on this subject, and get the results back in a few years???
