I am currently with Progressive. The renewal is around $100 more. Seems typical for everyone to raise your price after they get you in. Just wondering if anyone else is paying less than $860 for two cars every 6 months? I am not sure where to get quotes. I haven't found any cheaper. Frustrated I have to pay this much. I live in Oklahoma so the rates are probably inflated due to the storms we have.

i am a 40 year member of AAA.

they are good and cheaper than most.

i had them for several years.

however, begrudgingly, i had to switch to Allstate, and pay nearly $300 more per year.

reason?

to keep my LOWER home insurance, i needed to switch. what i save in home owners insurance makes up the higher cost of the auto.

and before anyone says anything, Allstate is pretty much THE ONLY home insurance i can get on "this old house".

thank you very much, don't come again soon please....

you could get a "free quote" from "The General", State Farm,..??????

o/p, be aware that not all insurance companies write policies all over the USA.

for example, I cannot get State Farm.

and that is only ONE that will not write policies here in New England.

truckingus,

Rates are dependent on a few Factors (In N.C. Your State may offer similar or different Factors):
1) Your AGE.
2) Your DRIVING HISTORY--how long you have been Driving since first getting yer license.
3) TYPE of Vehicle. Determines Vehicle Classification like SUV, Sports Car, Hot Rod. Any Modifications?
4) AGE of Vehicle. Older is better. I have a 2000 Saturn LS1 (with less than 100,000 miles) which gets a low yearly rate (less than $500.00) for basic insurance.
5) Expected MILEAGE per Year. - -I'm on a 20 mile a day plan.- -
6) GARAGED, COVERED or not. Surprisingly, GARAGED usually offers lower Rates.
7) Possible: Credit Report result.

Like Trucking, there are numerous Hoops, so get yer Jumping shoes on.
CHEERS!!

Best thing to do is go online and Google car insurance in your area
The links sometimes tell you what the qualifications are before you apply

Check out Amica Mutual 1st. USAA if you or anyone in your family served... any mutual usually have good rates because they are "mutually" owned by the participants

Also, if you live in a flood proned area or even a coastal county, your rates will be higher.

I just signed on with Allstate which lowered my homeowners & auto.
I was paying $525 every 6 months for my wife's 2010 Kia Soul,& my 2011 GMC 4x4 1/2 ton pickup.
Now I pay $473 which includes glass,my homeowners dropped by $300 per year.
