Just curious as to what your work week looks like. Mine is Mon-Fri from 6pm to around 6 or 7am. I don't work weekends and I run linehaul from terminal to terminal. I'll do 1 or 2 local drop and hooks after a warehouse is closed but no customer interaction. The only time it sucks is Friday night when the rest of the free world is living it up but it could be worse.

I started working Tues.- Sat. 11:30 at night to 8:00 in the morning & worked that shift for many years. Back then you had to work the late shift for about 10 years, then second shift for 10 years & then to days. The shop ran 24/7.
I was single then & missed out on a lot of activities a young man normally does. I told my friends when the company was hiring but they said there was no way they would work that shift. Now they say you are "Lucky" because I have a pension for retirement & they don't.
Few freight people start out 9-5 Mon.-Fri.

I worked swing shift most of my carrier in trucking. 1600-0030. Probably why I'm still married.
Haha I hear that, I think working nights keeps my wife interested in me on the weekend. I love the night shift, I don't know how these p&d guys deal with the idiot drivers/general public all day and dispatchers constantly up their a.. I just deal with truckers, travelers and drunks.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.........or more tolerable.

I've been working for a Driver Temp to Perm Service called TransForce Inc or TFI since May this year. I'm still seeking the "Perm" part.
Been doing all shifts and next week will be working Sunday, Monday, Wednesday evenings from 22:30 - 06:00 with Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 18:00 - 06:00.
Greensboro NC to Winston-Salem turns with weights from 34,000 to 45,000 on 53' Dry Vans, drop-n-hook both sides.

WE (Wife and I) Are SO GLAD I'M DONE WITH O.T.R.!!

1221 Memorial Blvd S, Martinsville, VA 24112

Saturday 0600-1300

Sunday closed
M-F 0600-1430

I run m-f, foodservice, done my share Saturdays though. Start around 4-5 a.m. and usually done 12 13 14 hrs later exhausted.

Scheduling has been a bit reduced:
Not 40 hours a week. Running some weeks at 3-4 days, 8-12 hours a day, nothing starting earlier than 05:00, not usually ending later than 16:00, some weeks more, some less.
Growing weary of the Slip-Seat stuff as i no clean up after sloppy folk. I'll clean the windscreen outside, rarely inside unless smearing problems.
Wet wipes for the steering wheel, knobs, shifter. CHUCKLES signing off......end of line

This week (Tues thru Sat) "working on call" from 05:00 - 10:00 and if nothing happens during that time period, then I'll get paid for 8 hours (literally getting paid for doing nothing). IF (rare) I get called after the "on call time", it's Time and 1/2.
