FedEx Freight | Vacation senority

Wrong Swampy, I started here as part time. And because the driver development program is ongoing and not looking to be halted, significant numbers are possible. Especially at a large hub with a big part time group of employees.

1) The driver development program has not ALWAYS been in existence. Therefore, neither has the opportunity.

2) It has been halted in the past, for a period of time.

3) Everyone eligible does NOT participate. In fact, MOST don't.

Significant numbers could be POSSIBLE, but are still unlikely, IMHO.

May I suggest you guys let the corporate advice team, BRG Patel, conduct interviews, review policy, and perform in depth research on this subject, and get the results back in a few years???

BRG Patel Consulting LLC did a research for our company, the results came back and said, they found no truck driver
worked hard enough to deserve any vacation, but all should receive a 15% pay reduction.
One exception, some guy called Billy, should receive a minimum of 10 weeks.

He also has an exemption from the DOT to work up to 110 hours a week between driving, talking, and mowing.....

Under my policy your seniority date would be the day you started part time, not your full time date, so even you would benefit depending on the amount of time you were part time.

What most in CLT don’t realize is the amount of part time employees that exists within the company, especially on the dock, because we have the most full time dock employees in the system.
By denying part time employees to use their hire date for company seniority, one is essentially saying that those employees or their time as part time employees are not as important as full time employees IMO and that just isn’t the case. We’re all cogs in the wheel and it takes all of us to make the wheel go round.

No, the policy will probably never change but I’m right because it should...just sayin’
Just because it would help some people such as yourself who have changed departments doesn't mean its right for all. Cherry picking just the vacation policy as company seniority when everything else is department seniority ain't right either. Just sayin....

There was a time when Truck assignment went strictly by Company Seniority. I'm told that has long since changed, and is dependent on the bid, which is dependent on job class seniority... Things can and do change.

Out here on the left coast, land of the real freight companies, the original FedEx freight bid runs and trucks by department seniority. This was prior to the hostile takeover by the East.
