SAIA | Saia has lost overall 100+ driver

Good thing he was not an OD driver, BillyLo would be on him like a chicken on a junebug.
And rightfully so. And people wonder why the company has DriveCam. He never would forward me the video. That was a smart move for such a dumb ass. BTW. The truck wasn't equipped with DriveCam.

Does OD allow drivers to use the phone thru Bluetooth?
I have no idea, don't think Billy does!
I don't have a dog in this hunt, I just think cameras are going to be in trucking's future period.
I also can not see why Saia drivers can't focus on their driving and use a CB or cel phone like any other drivers.
You meet 10 police or hiway patrol and 8 will have a cel phone stuck in their ear.

SAIA has really dialed back the way they do coaching. Our new V.P. (Cory T.) has said they will stop making us sign the coaching session forms. Only serious violations will have to be signed. Go onto lytx off the employee portal and notice coaching sessions being stated as resolved that you never even knew about. Nothing will ever be said unless you continue the same bad behavior over and over. They are not trying to fire anyone. They are trying to change bad behavior. Things are getting much better.

It seems for most of us the driver portal for the lytex camera has been disabled.

Yes they do allow Bluetooth and CB use at Old Dominion. Pretty much any reasonable company does.

Not sure why BillyLo got brought into this, but I've read the OD forum long enough to know that his opinion on anything is worth about as much as a used roll of toilet paper...

You don't see too many cop cars wrecking and taking out innocent people. When they do, it's either covered up, blown away, swept under the rug, or proven to be someone else's fault. The media is, however OBSESSED with bashing truckers and trucking companies. Cue the cameras. They will ALWAYS be in corporate trucks, sooner or later. Then one day all freight will be controlled be the railways system and all trucks will be forced to haul for them, and you'll have a camera in your truck, or NOT HAUL ANYTHING.

If it concerns you that much then just pull over and check your airlines or whatever. Then you can reply and still be within the company policy and the law. Come on man, there is always a way if lives are at stake.

10-4 Brother Train. Just don't do it in close proximity to a stop sign you're going to roll.

I didn't technically roll that stop sign but they will never know that from just an 8 second clip. But I get your point White and trust me it won't happen again. I stop well behind the stop sign then roll forward to get a better view ( sometimes trees and other things obstruct your view) and come to a complete stop several more times again just to make sure. People behind me wonder what in the **** I'm doing but I really don't care. I'd like to go out on my terms although at this stage in the game I really don't care.

The Lawyers, Insurance companies, & excessive Jury awards is what has gotten us cameras, random tests, & 14 hour day's. I am not a fan of France, but their drivers union must be busting a gut seeing how we operate here in the US. But, trucking in Europe is whole different ballgame. von.

Nope, you and another OD driver spending too much time at the "Do Drop Inn", Train blowing through the stop sign,
Ump not keeping the boss man's grass cut, this is where your cameras came from.
When Billy puts the drone in the air, you better shape up.

#1 Chattanooga line driver got fired yesterday they said he had too many following too close videos and that he was a risk to the company although he hadn’t put a scratch on nothing in years. He had 24 years with saia.

An Management cannot understand why they can't keep drivers with only two or three years seniority with the company?
What do they have to look forward too.....:6792:

Nice move by Saia (sarcastic). So, they don't have to pay free health insurance for this person, who apparently has an impeccable safety record. And the person was fired because of???? Following too close, but no accident. The potential is there for an accident, but hasn't happened yet. Talk about putting the cart before the horse...

There is great potential for a lawsuit. Driver should sue the crap out of them.

At first glance it seems a bit harsh. But always remember that things are not always as they appear. There is more to this story than meets the eye. I can almost guarantee that. Something is being left out IMO. You can better believe this company covers their ass in regards to terminations and rarely makes mistakes.
