"A 300-mile variant of the Semi will cost $150,000; the 500-mile model, $180,000; and a Founders Series will run $200,000, according to Tesla’s website."

"Musk reported that lower energy costs for the truck over a million miles adds up to a savings of around $200,000 over conventional fuel costs. He said the truck is guaranteed not to break down for a million miles."

Will the lumper meet you @ the receiver to pick it up off the floor? von.

Not until I hear Musk claim that the top 3 feet of the tractor and trailer would pop back into shape after entering a low bridge/tunnel at 15 mph....
What about the other option they offer??? Off road, rubberized tracks??? Be good in case the truck was sent down, say, a wooden street??

This is starting to sound like a Viagra forum! Hell, my staff quit listening to me years ago, I guess I've come to the right site!

Truck Stocks Rebound After Tesla Leaves Crucial Details Out of Semi Plan

http://www.ttnews.com/articles/truck-stocks-rebound-after-tesla-leaves-crucial-details-out-semi-plan

"Batteries used in electric vehicles are typically heavy, and in the case of a truck, can reduce the payload capacity. If the Tesla tractor with a 500-mile range carries a 10,000 pound battery pack, that would “almost certainly cut into the payload capacity of the truck,” according to Baudendistel. That’s even after discounting the comparable weight of a diesel engine, transmission and fuel in a traditional truck with an internal combustion engine.

According to Melius Research’s Rob Wertheimer, Tesla’s truck would provide a fuel efficiency that is the equivalent of about 19 miles per gallon, versus 10 miles per gallon achieved in current “best-in-class” trucks. That’s not enough to claim big fuel savings, he said."

What? You mean someone using tax payer grant money to research the advantages of an electric vehicle, did not provide accurate information? I smell an investigation by BRG Patel forthcoming.....At no cost to taxpayers either.....

ELD Rule Spurs Carriers, Truckers to Drop Slowpoke Shippers

https://www.trucks.com/2017/11/28/eld-mandate-carriers-truckers-drop-shippers/

About time!
If they attached language to the ELD effective date that detention time, charged to the shipper,or consignee starts after 30 minutes when the truck shows up on time for scheduled appt, or within normal delivery, and pickup hours,it would put a fire under some of these DC's rear end. It is time that the drivers have equal leverage as these businesses have for years.

  • IRS Announces 2018 Estate and Gift Tax Limits
https://www.natlawreview.com/articl...29-2017&utm_source=Robly.com&utm_medium=email

"Due to the unified nature of the estate and gift tax systems, this means a person can make up to $5.60 million of taxable gifts without paying gift tax or transfer up to $5.60 million of assets at death without paying estate tax. In 2017, the exclusion amount was $5.49 million.

In 2018, the annual per donee gift tax exclusion will increase to $15,000. The annual per donee gift tax exclusion had been at $14,000 since 2013. That means in each year, any person can give to any other person up to $15,000 without having any obligation to file a gift tax return or use any of the combined gift and estate tax exclusion referenced above."

Anyone wishing to send any such gift my way, please use paypal. send to: tommywins (at) netzero (dot) net.

Thanks!
