Ours are set at 10mph over. I've got an 18 and so far no break checking. But it's hard to get more then 10 over on a highway with an 80mph limit.

Will these operate with a special pin/ring for attaching straps like the old trailers? The ones we have are almost completely useless due to the rarity of these special pins. And how did those beams get so bent up over the years? None of my freight is deckable for delivery or pick up so I am more concerned with having rings to secure hazmat.

Actually it's the Bendix system that uses GPS to "read" the speed limit and at 5mph over it'll beep to let you know you're speeding, at 10 mph over it'll apply the engine brake to slow you down...haven't heard of any "events being triggered" for this...yet...since they're allegedly not watching videos for this.
We've ran into issues where construction zones are present with reduced speeds due to construction being done at night. The trucks are automatically slowing down during the daytime for "speeding" even though there's no construction work being done and there's no reduced speed limit....very frustrating to say the least!!

RR, thanks. My new Pete R209xx just arrived, haven't driven it yet. Does it work at any speed, or just above 55 like the tailgating issue?
My concern, as well.
It looks like a completely new design. It looks like we will be able to use current straps AND current decking, in addition to the "Kaptive" branded system. Also, the current eyelet adapters may work for using rope. The don't address this, but from the video, it looks to be the case.

For some reason RC has vanished into thin air. Imagine that.
Looking at the track I am not so sure the current pegs will work in their track. The shape of the track seems like a different design. Single level of pails on a pallet are my highest concern for securing so how far down the wall the track goes is most important to me.
Again, I agree. FWIW, Express trailers have heavy duty recessed eyelets in the floor, perfect for securing anything too short for the wall track.
I misspoke on the adapter description. The ones that should work with rope are the short pieces of strap with a d-ring/eyelet on one end and the standard clip on the other.
Meanwhile the clips for the Watkins style track MUST be stocked in order to be compliant. There is no other way to secure, especially after the damaged deck bars are removed. If I ever see a box of them, I'll get a part number to share with the class.

Vertical e- The trailers have a horizontal strip of e-track at a little above ankle height to secure little pails ect. Current clips/beams/straps work fine in the trailers.

I did notice a different look to the video. Different production methods seemed evident. 
Also, the deadline for entry into 2018 Freight Handling Competition being 12/8/2017, it seems that information on it has been almost zero, beyond the mention in the video. Anyone else seen or heard anything?

ELD and Telematics were the topics.
New (to us) info on the ELD was the P/C (personal conveyance) feature, to be used when off duty (lunch). Must be entered when going off duty, it allows you to drive for limited personal use without kicking you off of lunch. They tell us it's only for bobtail use, but it likely works for moving short distances even if still hooked.
They showed numerous captured videos, documenting the horrors that have been seen. Huge amount of info, including the cell phone reflection in the windshield.
The newest truck have a camera that reads black& white speed limit signs. At 5 over you get an alert beep. At 10 over, the brakes are briefly applied, as a second alert.

Our SCM was telling the dock workers that the deadline had been extended. But old age has robbed me of the exact date of the extension.
