Yellow | The Change

I must have been traveling the wrong direction, never saw a Big R that didn't run faster than 55!
I'm sure the Hendrickson suspension was made to torture drivers, we never ran them, thank goodness

Nothing but Hendrickson back in the day...

Rumor here on the west coast that the 511 barn closed. Any truth to that rumor?
Nope..but since they moved alot of tractors out to gaining barns and alot of tractors red lined behind the 511 shop alot of us foreign drivers are homesteading at the motel for long lengths of time.Plus possibly the same old dock labor issues

Looks like an old RTL trade in, but we ran only Budd wheels, would have had twin stacks,8v71s

No way on trade in. Maislin bought new. That particular tractor (6250) was used normally for Thruway doubles between Buffalo and the New Paltz, NY compound. It had a 335 Cummins with a 13 speed Spicer if my memory is correct. I had it that day for some reason I can't quite remember. All the rest of the line haul Ford Louisvilles had 290 Cummins with 10 speed RR and yes, spoke wheels. Even the later Titan, Astro, and Ford CL-9000 models also had 290's with 10 speed RR.

I could jiff (or unjiff ) a Roadway tractor without getting any grease on me ( other then my gloves), after years of trial and error.
Mud, you're a better man then me. Never had any luck like that when I switched on the midnight shift. On oh those frozen 5th wheels.:17113:

We tried to pull twin 45s between Orlando and Miami with 8v71s and 300 Cummins, but could not maintain speed required by Fla RRUC, they bought flatback KWs with 12v71s and 10spd RR.

Didn't need to jiff or unjiff, just walk close to our jiffs and get covered in grease.

Are you pulling my leg?
From what I hear, if you are caught eating, drinking, using phone, picking your nose, etc. they cut off your hand.
I better check with Train on this, they need to get a camera in your truck.
I hate the camera's. You can check my posts in the Saia section. There are some activities, like using your phone, which are an absolute no-no. However, if you pick your spots, you can be fairly certain that the camera will not go off and who can resist salty fries and ketchup or an ice cold Dr Pepper. :1036316054:

Can't argue with Dr Pepper, sure beats the citrus crave

Occasionally switched midnight (10pm actually) on Sunday nights at Hackensack for PIE and fooled with those abominations. That was back when you had to have a set leave by 6am or you had to run the kite down to Moonachie separately to be strung there.

After being retired for eight years I can safety say that working the midnight dock, P&D in the city and swing shift, is all a young mans work. My shoulders and back still hurt but I would do it all over again.

Those flatback Freightliner jiffs were the most miserable things PIE ever owned.

It's the worst DC in the company and the turmoil is way beyond the imagination. The local thrives on disrupting the operation with walking stewards that slow it down 24/7. It's also the most ⓇⒶⒸⒾⓈⓉ local in the union which fails to represent any black employees. IE...white local favorite chasing a black new employee into a trailer and the black employee is fired and upheld. The white guy gets nothing but back pay (R Stockemer). The place is filled with hatred between races and heritage's because of the white Yellow local. Employees are are actually threatened for working too fast and threatened if they don't donate to the sick and lame fund collected by stewards and alternates on company time (Luke, Carlos and Ray). The company is aware (documented by recording) but afraid to investigate (M Lilly, L Stephenson, H Anthony) All documented by a team of current & former employees building their case with another group that has already presented a class action lawsuit for racial discrimination.
Who are you any way ??? You want to call people out by name but hide behind a Sam Houston screen name???

FYI The employee whom you are referring to that Mr Stockemer “supposedly”chased into a trailer had threatened him & his family with violence with a firearm in front of a supervisor so I guess it’s ok in your eyes for that to happen & no Consequences for said employee?Cmon man!!! & yes I come from that “White Yellow Local” you referred to since 1989 & im definitely not a ⓇⒶⒸⒾⓈⓉ.... Also I can Honestly set the record straight about being threatened for working to fast or not contributing to the sick & death fund, you are udderly wrong about any accusations involving threats about the said subjects...

I never did manual labor, I always bid on a midnight run, but with todays traffic and all these guys deal with, I think I'll pass on the do it all over again.
