Career Ending Operation???

Wow! You sure have been put through the ringer. I know how you got that crack....too much stress from the weight of all the BS they gave you. Seriously though I send my thoughts and prayers.
lol..yeah, you ain't kidding about all that they put me through.

if the insurance company just did thier due diligence this would have been all done in maybe all of 2 years. but noooo, they gotta drag it out.

UPDATE: Dec 10, 2017

i have had 2 p/t visits last week, the p/t tech is starting me off slowly, due to my cracked vertebrae.

i was told i had 6 p/t visits, but was then told that the evaluation was one visit, what a rip.

so i have 2 more this week, and one the following week, which this week, i will be re-evaluated. then hopefully more visits will be approve.

he has me get onto a bike machine to warm up, for about 10 minutes, then i have to lay on my back for the few more things i have to do. seems like i actually only get 40 to 45 mins of p/t time. he does not have me do anything at home, except some walking.

at this place, the p/t tech actually stays with me, they have many p/t techs, so it's more of a one on one, rather than the other place where the patients out number the techs, and you are left alone.

UPDATE: Dec. 11, 2017

well hells bells...FINALLY, i get to go for my CT scan this coming Friday..!!!!!

after my doctor visit from Nov 6th...!!!!!!!

there is always a waiting time for things to happen on workers comp, but this was 1000% ridiculous as well.

the doctors office AND the vendor got the approval, but they needed the script from the doctors office, which as of today, they sent it to them for the 4th freaking time..>!!!!!!

i have made a few phone calls to the vendor of the insurance company about this.

in the past, the doctor's office got the "go ahead" and THEY called the MRI or xray place to get this done.

this time, the mickey mouse insurance company, wanted me to go thru their vendor for an appointment.

ok, but guess what..??

i am going to THE SAME MRI/XRAY PLACE for my CT scan..!!!!!!!

maybe there is an insurance discount from them doing it this way.??

or maybe they just wanted control over where i go..???

either way, i am going to the same damned place....

i had called this vendor again THIS MORNING in fact, to find out what the hold up was/is. they were awaiting the doctors fax with the script..

the doctors office FAXED THEM at least 4 times now, to the phone number they had.....

somehow, someway, someone at the vendor "got it today"..how amazing is that...??????

oh joy to the world, a Christmas Miracle....

i just had to email my attorney. the damned check did not arrive on saturday as usual. it did not arrive on monday either. here it is tuesday and still no check.

i asked him to look into this. by law (at least here in my state) a check must be 2 weeks late to be officially late, before the attorney can do anything, which sucks.

by that time, THEN the court appearance, i will be set back like one full month, (maybe more) and so far behind my bills.

the checks come up from Kentucky, maybe they got hit with snow, along the route, but like WTF, there is no reason to be "this late".

if the god damned insurance would have a direct deposit this would never happen.

it sucks living from check to check.

YES, the "checks" were hit by nasty weather.

Yeah, I know that song from 2001.

Your Life Con-tin-ues
to be a liv-ing night-mare
wai-ting for a check.
i know, you know, my attorney knows, nearly everyone knows, that the insurance company wants me off thier (proverbial) back.

they want my claim done and over with.

well i got hurt, severely as the past has proven this from my updates.

they ACCEPTED FULL RESPONSIBILITY for my injury, now they MUST continue owning my back till i am as good as can be.

and that's that.

now i await my CT scan tomorrow (Fri Dec 15th)

and the surgeons appointment in Feb.

until then, they can mess with me all they want.

it's up until the surgeon says he can do no more for me, till then THOSE BASTARDS OWE ME.......

let this be a COLD HARD lesson for ALL TO LEARN FROM,..... got hurt on the job?

SEEK AN ATTORNEY ASAP..!!!!!!! show the insurance company, YOU MEAN BUSINESS.

otherwise the insurance company(s) WILL WALK ALL OVER YOU....

that WILL NOT happen to me.

they WILL PAY fines on any and all past due checks, AND THEY HAVE in the past.

screw them.

UPDATE: Dec 15, 2017

ok, came back from the CT scan earlier. i was viewing it, damned if i can see a fracture, but i am sure the surgeon can, IF there IS a fracture at all

here are some pics. now remember, i am fused from the L3 all the way down to the S1

UPDATE: Dec. 28, 2017

i just called the doctor's office back a few minutes ago. the office gal was reading the reason why she called me, (i could hear her whispering voice), saying, change this patient's appointment from Feb to as close as possible.

so now i have to go see my surgeon in the second week of january.

i am of the thinking, something showed up in that recent CT scan after all.

i still have pains in my butt area, it is not a sciatica, and this pain is in the "general area" of the bottom screw on the right side. this "pain" will cause my right leg to kick out from under me at times, and also at times, i walk like Quasimodo, when i get up from a chair, or slightly bend, like when i am setting up the dinner table, or other slightly bent functions i have to do, until i can slowly rise up straight.

i even had a difficult time sitting up from the p/t table, and the tech saw that.

by the way, regarding p/t, it has now been at least 2 weeks since my last visit, of a 5 visit p/t sessions, and i still await approval for more.

Me wife has admitted (several dozen times after the bribe) she wished she had not stopped the Comp activity as she settled WAY TOO EARLY.
She got burned out in the WAITING for things/appointments to get setup as well the seeming quackery from a couple of "doctors".
Hers was Soft Tissue damages while it was stated several times by the Hospital staff in southern Indiana (from a Tractor-Trailer rollover) that had she some broken bones, recovery would have been better.

Hopefully pro1, This "new" year will be the one.

UPDATE: January 15, 2018

ok, rather than for me to retype, i will simply paste what i emailed my attorney...

............................................................

Good afternoon xxxx.

My appointment with Dr. xxxx showed from the CT scan, that the 2 last screws are loose. He is going to have me wear a bone growth stimulator like after my first operation with him, 3 years ago.

He still isn't certain of the spinal fluid leaking, as the CT scan did not show anything.

after the 3 months of wearing that bone growth stimulator, I go for an xray, then another visit to his office.

I will have to pick up the visit notes Tuesday and deliver them to your office, and IF I can, I will find on the CD, a picture of the loose screws. He said it is a "halo" around the screws. you would be able to see the screws, and a dark "halo" around them....

I will try to get that for you.

As for P/T, I called them on Jan 2, I still have no response. Dr. xxxx did say go back to P/T, however, he did not put that into the visit notes,. but his secretary will remind him, hopefully P/T will be included in those notes.

see the darkness around the screws?

he says those 2 are loose. that there isn't much area to put the screws into at the S-1 (the last disk)

UPDATE: January 25, 2018

i had just sent a rather LONG email to my attorney.

it has been since Dec 15th, since my p/t ended. i only had 6 visits, one which was the eval, which to me, that should have NOT been considered a p/t visit.

just moments before i sent that email, i again called the p/t place. (last time i called was Jan 2nd..>!!!!)

gal there said that the comp insurance "just isn't responding!!

like i ain't used to thier shyte by now..????

gonna be 4 years this April, i have been on comp, and that screwed up insurance company.

i saw my surgeon on Jan 15th, and he needs me to wear a device, battery powered, called a "bone growth stimulator", for one hour a day, for 3 months.

however, the approval for THAT has NOT come yet as well...........

i explained why i have to wear that, in a previous update.

yuuuup.....as Dave Hester would say..............

i ain't caving into the insurance company's BS........that's what i got an attorney (or pitbull) for..........

UPDATE: Jan 30, 2018

i got a call from the gal who works with the medical device company. the insurance company finally approved the "bone growth stimulator" for me.

i meet up with her at the surgeons office tomorrow morning to be fitted and learnt how to use it, but, been there, done that in the past.

now, if only i can hear good news regarding more physical therapy!

UPDATE: Jan. 31, 2018

my attorney has emailed me.

he was glad for the bone growth stimulator being approved.

he has had to however, file a court petition for more physical therapy...

looks like i'll be going to my favorite court room soon. (unless he says i do not have to be there)

i just responded with a thanks, and a question, regarding being paid again for the scarring of this most recent operation. i was paid something like $5,000 for my scar the last time.

i wondered if I get another check for this new scar.

i'll take any money he can get out of that asinine insurance company

The Loose Screws are the "doctors" using inferior equipment.

Is it better to be screwed or hammered?

A friend in Delaware had some knee surgery and the "doctor" hammered a shim or rod (a wee bit too thick) into her knee bone/knee structure therein causing great pain in her lower back, left hip and foot. The foot is still numb after 6+ months and the leg is a wee bit longer.

"doctors" that desperately need some "patient therapy" are nationwide.

well i was told that in the area in which he had to use the screws, there just isn't much "area" to do so.

my right leg still at times kicks out from under me as i walk. in bed, if i roll over (which i do several times) i get a pain from the butt area all the way down the leg.

left foot is still numb as well, but at least, i can walk on it.

i myself am of the thinking that the area he put the last 2 screws into, may be of a "thinner" bone than say the vertebrae as in the past, check the CT/MRI pics i posted a little ways back.

i did not go to p/t ASAP like the last operation. i waited, and frankly, i am glad i did. i was totally against p/t right after surgery back in 2014. to me, it was too darned quick, like about 2 weeks after the operation?

BS, give a person TIME to heal, like say about 1 to 2 months.

i seem to recall my very first back operation in 2001, NO p/t for about 4 months.

yes, times change, but as well as one's body. i do not think an older person can take p/t right out the gate.

so anyway's, i came home a short time ago, and started using this bone stimulator gadget.

the gal said it is set up for only 30 minutes, the doc wanted 1 hour a day.

she said none of these are for more than 30 minutes....

i asked her the price...

she said it is dependant on the insurance company.

some insurances will only pay $1,000

some will pay $5,000

then guess what, after 9 months, you have to toss them into the trash. they cannot be reported for another patient....

but this time, i will have a GREAT travel bag..!!

the insert of foam in this one fully comes out. my last one, it was glued in....(the foam keeps the device neatly stored and safe from damages)

cool.......free (anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000 travel bag.....!!!!!)

UPDATE: Feb. 15, 2018

ok, so i just got an email from my attorney ( i sent him one earlier this morning), regarding my physical therapy/ I reminded him that it's been since Dec 15th, my last day there, and my doctor WANTS me to keep going.

he told me, that the other attorney called to say it was approved.

however the insurance company has said they never received any new requests...BS, the p/t has been sending them the past 2 months.

insurance company says they did not get them, so gave them the new (or correct) fax number.

BS, again, how did they get the request last time, by carrier pigeon...????

anyway, when the p/t place gets the fax from the insurance fools, i should be all set to start again, in 2 weeks from today.

i say 2 weeks, as i must now have a surgical procedure done by another doctor, for another problem i have (non-injury, non-comp involved)

and that takes place next week, FEB, 19, so no way in heck will i be up and running, to go and start p/t again, till the following week.

so there ya go...

fools say they never got the fax requests.......

i believe them, like i believe Santa is my dad............

UPDATE: Feb 26, 2018

i got this email from my attorney earlier today:

__________________________________________________________

Either I misunderstood what I was told or they have gone back on what they said, but Jeff told me today that the adjuster is not voluntarily authorizing the additional pt visits because their Utilization Review department found the treatment not necessary. I will argue the case to Judge XXX on Wednesday @ 10am. If you are up to being there, great. If not, don’t worry about it.

__________________________________________________________________

so here we go around the insurance merry-go-round....

we all know, this means they want to be rid of me.......screw them......my doctor wants me in P/T....i have no real strength, can't walk right, etc. therapy will improve things to a more livable situation.

UPDATE: March 9, 2018

what a bunch of God DXXX BULL SHIITE..

my attorney went to court wednesday of LAST week regarding my doctors orders for MORE p/t.

the JUDGE ordered the insuranc for me to go for 6 weeks at 2 times each week.

my attorney sent me an email this past Tuesday (i had emailed him for the court update) and he told me the approval and that THE INSURANCE adjust WAS WORKING ON IT, and would fax the approval to the p/t place.

as o TODAY...THAT NEVER HAPPENED......!!!

so i had already set up 2 days for next week, for p/t.

the gal there called me minutes ago,and told me....no fax...and she also tried calling them..

i just recently as 10 minutes ago, emailed my attorney asking...WTF....

i just about 5 minutes ago, called his paralegal..

she CANNOT GET THRU to the adjuster, as her voice mail is full....like WTF.......

so now, the paralegal MUST call the original adjuster (the boss adjuster) down in kentucky.

i just got a call seconds ago, and finally the paralegal answered her phone cal from kentucky.

claiming she will do this now, fax the approval on over to the p/t place.

i hope so, the gal at the p/t place leaves today at 11:00 AM.

i'd have to wait till Monday morning to see if it actually happened or not...

christ almighty............

I WILL NOT GIVE UP, I WILL NOT LET THE INSURANCE COMPANY WIN......

UPDATE: March 9, 2018

SUCCESS....!!

the fax FINALLY was taken care of minutes ago, according to the message on my answering machine...
