XPO | CON Region

** Yes, all new salaried employees (FOS on up) must sign their non-compete agreement, regardless of whether they are an internal promotion or hired from the outside. In talking with several who have left (or been asked to leave), the agreements are more restrictive the higher the position. Basically, plan on not working the first 6 months unless you're flipping burgers or saying "Welcome to Wal-Mart." And yes, BJ has gone after several former employees who he felt violated the agreement.
Maybe I wasn't clear: If XPO is hiring management from the outside , then the new hires did not have a no-compete-clause at their old company. FedEx , ABF , R&L , Saia , YRC companies , and regional LTL. They don't seem to have the same problem with no-compete-clauses that XPO supervisors on the lowest level have.

True. I believe most of the LTL carriers do not use non-compete agreements at this level. Generally it's at Directors or VP level and above.

I agree . That’s about the level where employment contracts are implemented.
We are losing an alarming amount of management I guess it doesn’t matter as long as the public and investor perception is ok and the stock keeps on the rise. Ashame to see so many good people go.

The concerning part is how many people with years of experience are leaving and nobody at the corporate level seems to think that there is an issue with this. Not to mention those that are still here and simply not happy. How many more are looking elsewhere and may be gone after the first of the year? Especially if they are not in line to get a bonus!

Our current management staff is either unmotivated or incapable of fixing the problems that stifle us. Despite the stock price the way we are operating and the lack of reinvestment into equipment ect. This is not substainable. I hope I’m wrong for everyone’s well being. Something is not right.

Everyone says they know something the rest of us don't, yet. That there have been meetings. And that things are starting to play out. And that we will all understand soon enough. It is obviously more than a little awkward. The rest of the company is making money hand over fist, and then there is us. And his rumors of another purchase looming. It's a lot of drama. And so many people not just getting fired, but quitting. Seems like there is a fire growing under all of that smoke.

Scary and uncertain times for a lot of people at what should be a joyful time of year. I hope for everyone of us that work here it works out . We could all use some positive news.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, they say the XCL TM got the can Friday.

Has any one heard of them hiring any TMs ? Keep hearing about them leaving. Nothing about replacements.

Word I heard, all TM's will be replaced by part time dock workers.

That's cute. Not sure it would be very practical. But imagine the cost savings paying two people 25 hours a week for $20 an hour with no benefits versus whatever the TMs make ? Interesting business strategy.

And now , ladies and gentlemen , XPO will try to fix the Cycle of Life...

I will believe it when I see it. Every time they say they will do this, and they finally fence those loads. They don't get paid. And then the next day we are there until the end, waiting on trailers. Because when customers blow up the phones the cycle of life goes out the window.

Wonder what our customers think of this change? Considering we didn't spend much time communicating this to the network, I'm sure we didn't clear it with them! We're already losing some due to poor service, this surely won't help. I can see making this adjustment if we were properly staffed but this no doubt will cost us some customers.

Yup it works until the first snowflake fell. The day after a small snow fall I was the only one at the FAC and when I asked about my cut time I was told they were not using them because of the weather the other night. Also there are no cut time on Friday night.

But losing customers is a product of low staffing and not enough equipment. And now that we have fewer customers we can have even less equipment and even fewer employees. EBITDA EBITDA EBITDA !!!
