I've been with this company a long time, and I've never seen that. Not through all of the CEOs, VPs, TMs, FOSs, and HR policies. I have seen long tenured employees, some right around the corner from retirement, get tossed and they absolutely did it to themselves. On the other hand, we've still got some jewels working for us that are only here because they're really good at riding the line.

It's one of the most popular union talking points- "Hey, look, they CAN, so why wouldn't they?". Well, they don't.

What I have seen are people who don't know all of the details, who run with rumors and heresay and in defiance of common sense and logic, convincing themselves that anyone is fired for "no reason".
They took away your pension, didn't they,That's enough for any body. When your close to retirement, could a should a...Your 401 k won't cut it.Don't expect 25% returns for ever, remember the past preserve the future.

oh no this is no bubble!!! Wrong sir this is forever.

It simply amazes me how many people pick 1 failing plan and never say squat about the rest that are thriving. Nor do they ever say anything about those of us who's pension plan is secure with the company. Either you wish for things to stay the same or you want change. You choose but make an informed decision.

I'm just surprised by how many people come out of the woodworks around contract time. No shilling going on here. None at all.

The redundancy of two people going to do the same job at the same time due to miscommunication.

Now that's union logic if I've ever heard it. Someone might tell two people to go hook the same set, so we'll build a wall between job classifications and pay a bunch of extra money for no other reason than "someone had to do 'someone else's job'". We'll even spin it like we're being safer, more efficient, and "protecting work".

Meanwhile, us non-union scab guys go to hook and find the yard guy hooking our set, and we tell him we got it- and he goes off to do some other move. All those wasted minutes, huh? Amazing.

You don't seem very serene, by the way.

What? I didn't use any exclamation points OR my caps lock. I'm up to here with cool, okay? I am so amazingly cool you could keep a side of meat in me for a month.

You paint a pretty picture for non-union , but as it was said earlier , there is a LOT of waste union or not.

In a perfect world people do what YOU described. As far as non-union , union , relax and enjoy your time off.

No, they froze it. It's still there, waiting for me to draw it or maybe cash it out. They replaced it with a 401k that I was immediately vested in and that belongs to me. It has performed very well with very little direction from me.

Why do I need to pay for representation?

You don't know that any more than the guys who signed on with Central States knew they would get hosed. We're all just doing the best we can, and I think I'm better at this than the Teamsters would be.

25%?? Good grief. I'm getting less than a third of that and I'm doing just fine.

The problem is that people have been trying to preserve the past since 1980. You'd have better luck waiting in Southampton for the Titanic.

Xanax when mixed with Percocet turns into a nasty combo. Watch out. A little pain mixed with anxiety = insanity. UGH.

Well, I hook all the time at my place. Every location is different. But the spotters still have their work, the local guys have their work... it's pretty harmonious.

Either way. I'm happy. You're happy. Have a great life.

I agree, TP. Lots of posters on here that like to throw the CSPF debacle out there for negativity. Plenty of plans out there that are doing quite well.

Your senators and congressmen have the same pension as the postal service. There plan is always 100 percent funded I guess that's why the postal service never makes any mo

Well ,we gave back 15% to preserve our future.and it's worked for us for the last 8 years. You never get back what you give up. Its all a matter of time.I am here for my insurance and my pension.
