XPO | Home Depot & XPO ???

Hopefully, UPS or FED-EX buy the LTL portion of XPO...

Lets hope Fed Ex Don't buy us they would only close our doors they don't need us they just want us out of the damn way Ups on the other hand may actually have a use for us since over night now ups is really not much better than it was when it was overnight !!

Naw, UPS in my opinion doesn't have much use for XPO. They are only in the freight business to complete their Portfolio. They could gear up and take control of the Ltl market if they choose to. Probably one of the wealthiest corporation's around.

Doesn't Home Depot use some of the YRC carriers?????

If this goes through and they pull that business that may sting a bit......
Jb hunt for floor loaded drop trailers. Yrc only delivers very few an small amount of freight. NEMF/ ESTES in that order for all else. Estes also runs flatbed division for HD on the east coast, which was previously held by cardinal

I think it’s safe to say at some point in time we will be sold. My concern is that their is the possibility that we Ltl may become stand alone again. The reason that concerns me is whoever buys us will inherit a company that needs major reinvestment due to the lack of it during our Xpo tenure. ( aged fleet, deteriorating facilities) . The purchaser would probably ask for concessions from the work force to fund reinvestment. I hope this will not be the case .

I think that is a fair assessment.

I believe this also. The facilities and the lack of maintenance is showing. I also think this is also affecting SAFETY in the work place.

Any potential purchasers don’t need to ‘ask’ the workforce for concessions...once they took possession, they would just do it providing the absence of a binding contract, or some supporting language in a bill of sale.

So you're talking about a pay cut? Well, that might really crank up the effort to unionize more terminals, right?

It’s possible. You guys have been dragged through the mud as of late. I have several close friends that work for XPO...some as far back as when they were titled CWX, CEX, etc., so I feel for you guys.

Speaking of scotch, scotch...I tried that Glenlivet Founders Reserve over the Holidays. For the price, I thought it was darn good!! Let me know if and when you try it...I definitely recommend!!

Funny you should mention it. I was given a bottle of Founders for Christmas so I don't know price, but I did like it and plan on drinking more of it tonight.

Come in on a Monday and there is a guy sitting at the gate and handing out applications.

Nope, it would result in the fortification of the other LTL companies. As everyone would take jobs else where.
I don't think so. Anecdotally speaking, XPO and YRC at this time are the only two LTL's looking to hire. Other than attrition, if the competition doesn't grow they will have little reason to hire drivers from XPO. Just my opinion.

Your area sucks then. Here in Cowtown, USA ( Columbus, Ohio ) everyone is growing, expanding and hiring.
