XPO | Con-way retirees

Came up short on pension because when I was hired in 1986 we were told the plan they had going at the time would pay as much if not more than the 3000 I would of got from the (dare I say it) TEAMSTERS. So, I bought in and the rest is history.

I know ya got a brother and the two of you tried to rob a train but messed up. Big time. That's why you work for Conway now LOL!!

My wife Loves my mug... Just look at my avatar, whats not to love??? I got great love handles, don't ya think? Pleasant smile, I'm quite the catch.:LMAO:

I believed it too, I had three choices at the time, it would appear I made the wrong one.

Comin up on retiring next year. :couch: let you young studs pickup the slack. :shift: Make a little room for you. Hopefully you'll reach retirement in fair health. Don't stress the changes, just roll with the punches and try to keep yourself up beat. Its a booger some times, I been there, done that, NEVER take it home. Your family needs your leadership and guidance. :kicking:
If con-way was smart, they would offer you the 85 an out now.An a young stud with 20+years to retirement would not be looking for a new job, because he can't get hours.

In about 1 year and yes I will be Glad, Conway has been the worst part of my 35 plus years of driving, and its a shame because it dont have to be that way!:coffee1:

To answer your question, yes, I am retired Con-Way and living the good life.
Concerning your question about being happy to have it all behind me...YES!!!!!
Most of my career with the Con-Way companies was with CCX, I loved CCX!
CCX, from their begining stated that the Driver Salesman was their most important asset.
When we became Con-Way Freight, it went downhill...FAST.
The first clue was when they took all " Service Excellence " decals off of the trailers.
I, personally never cared for the "Service Excellence" decals, but I agreed with the message.
Why not continue " Service Excellence" ?
They had a new plan.
Next thing we knew, the DSR'S were costing the Company $$$$$$.
We were the only part of the Corp. that actually earnded $ for the company.
After it became Con-Way Freight, the drivers became the bottom feeding employees!
I could not stand it!!
Glad that I am gone after 23 years.
The pension is not S***, but it pays my medical.
Bottom Line: Yes, I am glad to be gone from the " Con-Way Machine".
Longtimeltl"

I went deep sea fishing last year with a retired con-way line driver. Being a retired FXF line driver we compared pensions. They seem to be the same. We used to run Reno together, back in the day.
