Is this job more than likely to be filled via a transfer or hire off the street? Been posted on website for about 3 weeks. Would appreciate any Linehaul info: possible running lanes, starting pay rate, insurance cost and deductible for family coverage, does linehaul work the dock, are you full time with a bid or run extra board to start? PM if you rather any info is helpful, thanks in advance.

Most job postings are filled from within the domicile first (city to linehaul), if no takers then transfers are second. Hiring off the street for linehaul is the last option...very rare but it does happen.

So the fact that the job is posted to the website mean that it has already been offered internally or not necessarily?

When the job is posted to the website it is the first official notification of the opening. It typically is common knowledge that the opening is coming up.

Tampa linehaul? Let me take a wild guess. Well under 100 miles to Orlando. Work the dock all night under extreme supervision. Less than 100 miles back to Tampa. City drivers pay for road driver's hours. Sound about right?

But you failed to mention the best part of it....sweating your balls off in the extreme heat and humidity of Florida especially when all the trailers come in and plug up the doors. NO VENTILATION at ORL! NO ROOF-VENTS...makes for very nice pleasant working conditions

Always great when your only hope of a cooling breeze is an open dock door.
