Preventable or not: Trucker’s wide left doesn’t go right

John Doe attempted to execute a wide left but still was struck by a bus whose driver didn’t turn sharply enough. Was this a preventable accident?

Others have argued that truck drivers are outlaws and have a ‘taste’ for speed and recklessness.”

The real answer, Belzer said, is that driver wages are too low and “the only way they can earn a living is to exceed reasonable working time standards.”

Absolutely preventable. One of the top rules of defensive driving is to be wary of vehicles such as school buses because they are usually being driven by people who aren't used to driving big vehicles.

Gosh. I thought we had been saying that for years on here. The shortage is pay and benefits.

Hell, I think most of us would be happy if we made enough money in 8 hours to call it a day. There are some drivers who enjoy gaming the circus for all it's worth, but most of us would be happy to get away from it sooner.

I know I'd be happy if I could find the money to take a vacation.

You mean like have a half normal work schedule? Maybe I should have kept all my grass cutting jobs when I was young? Never know. Could have been BRG lawn service worldwide?

There seems to be a saliva test much like the alcohol test we take. One would think in time the policy will have to be looked at. As a side note I wonder if CBD oils will get any clarification from a federal level. As I understand it most are THC free or carry a trace with no "high effect". Many people seem to be gaining a benefit from CBD oils for various ailments so in time I expect it to come to the front for discussion.
