FedEx Freight | Trump's corporate tax cut for the windfall

Perhaps we need a preemptive strike from an unnamed truckingboards.com source. "FedEx Freight to announce a increase in it's 401(k) match to 100% on the first 7% a worker contributes. This increase will now place FedEx freight back into the top position for benefits from their current position of third place. FedEx also will recognize that drivers spend less time with their families over their careers and will add an additional week of vacation to every driver starting in June in lieu of the popular $1000 bonuses announced by so many other companies. Smith said these moves should insure we attract and keep the best talent during the driver shortage."

OUTSTANDING! I can only like your post once, so we'll like it multiple times here: :1036316054::1036316054::1036316054::1036316054::1036316054:

In addition to, "higher than expected annual increases, typically effective in Oct."? :idunno:

Nothing official, yet...

I’d be down with an extra week of vacation. Extra money is nice, but free time is much nicer. That’d be nice if this came to fruition

And more eye candy in the office while we’re at it

Will this work????

That would be awesome hope it's true!

Fred has always come off as a pretty good egg. I think it’s his minions who have irrefutably caused many of the problems we’ve had in the past. I think new equipment should definitely be top priority

We all need to pressure them on our wants. They will cook up up what they think we want. We all know this is usually not what we really need. Take a minute and stuff the suggestion box, tell HR directly, hit the link on the Intranet or let your op's manager know. Some areas need new equipment or have GPD issues that could be easily addressed but if you are not making noise they will assume all is well. We all would benefit from a improved retirement and larger raise in October. Let them hear you. They are getting an earful from me. This is not a one time event. The $1.5 billion tax break will have the same effect for several years so we need to get a piece of the pie next year and the one after too.

Absolutely, Point!.

Keep in mind that Equip is already slated and in process for massive upgrade. That will continue somewhat accelerated (IMHO), but beyond the one time expensing, more new trucks wont provide maximum benefit in terms of capturing a higher market share. Wage/benefit improvements, including GPD, will secure a more favorable workforce, necessary to grow at the desired level.

Dominate the market for workers and you can dominate the growth within the industry. Or you can float along mid-pack on both counts.

It's sort of like waiting 5 years for congress to put new rules in place with PPA....before we can have a pension plan.....

Lost Time.....Time Lost......

"FedEx says it'll be giving wage increases, bonuses and make a voluntary $1.5 billion contribution to the company's pension plan, citing recent tax reform legislation.

FedEx Corp. said Friday that it'll raise compensation by more than $200 million, with about two-thirds going to hourly workers by pushing up this year's annual pay increases to April 1st from the normal October date. The rest of the money will fund increases in performance-based incentive plans for salaried personnel."

This is a good thing....I hope the pension improvements are meaningful to guys/gals that will retire in the next decade......it's shouldn't be all about the young'ins........
