If I understand the new vnomics upgrade, coming to a terminal near you and in the near future, the upgrade closes a loophole that you could use to save 30 minutes or so x a few days a week. This extra time could be the difference between having enough time, plus a little, to make an extra run or running out of time and being told to lay down, thus flushing the incentive of possible extra miles and pay down the hole. I hope that they can find the volunteers to run but who would want to run, come up time short, and have to visit the gulag hotel in DLS. Not me, brother. See yeah.

Chicago had their ELD training monday, and it's Wednesday today, so it only took them 2 days to start sending LH drivers out with over 11 hours of drive time and telling them to use their inclement weather exception. So they are still willing to bend the hos rules if it benefits them. Not YOU, but THEM.

They brought us in on Sunday 1-21-18 for our training during the football playoffs. It lasted about an hour which is not enough time. We are just learning on our own and some our struggling more than others. All sorts of code letters popping up. Many trucks in shop to clear things out due to the lack of proper training. There’s going to be a bit of a learning curve but we should be fine. The in yard feature keeps putting us back in service and the times are all jacked up. I think we have a few more months to get it straight before the troopers start getting serious.

Train you have to be on duty when using the in yard entry. It only helps to save your drive time not your on duty time and can only be ussd when at a terminal. You now have to be on duty before you move the truck, and cannot go off duty unti your day is completed. No more fueling or yard movement without being on duty. And when you are on break truck cannot move or it will throw you back on duty.

The Inclement Weather Exemption is for "Inclement Weather", not for you guys to use to bend the HOS rules. This is a public forum, and this will be brought to the attention of the Illinois and Indiana DOT. Trust me drivers...it's not worth risking your license or CSA score.

I’m finally starting to get it down. Had to edit a few times for not accepting a few things. I need to pay better attention. It seems they expect us to know everything with just 1 hour of training.

This is the Saia way.... 12 plus years ago when we 1st got handhelds same thing. I personally had several days of Delivery tickets totally screwed up.

Went thru HST Wednesday morning around 3:30 am counted 8 line drivers with their sets built napping on the yard...( 30 minute break ).

Little bitter still I see. Wanting to report this, wanting to turn in drivers if you see them with a headset on, etc...... Glad you don’t work here anymore, at least you took some drama out of our lives. You’ll never be a happy person.

An accident causing that much delay would be eligible for your 13 hour exemption. Otherwise, hit a ramp and wait (on duty).

Why would you wait on duty? Go a minute or two more, off the road, then off duty. Everyone is over complicating this. Is there no personal convayence setting on the new system to get to hotel or to go get a meal?

I assumed 'Rider wanted the law abiding solution. Anything done and anytime spent in the process of completing your duties is on duty. Sure, take a second 30. You may need to if your first was taken "between the fourth & sixth hour" as the company would like you to. Sure, use personal conveyance around the yard hooking & fueling. Do whatever you want (as long as it's not certain things, that are subject to change, caught on Lytx), y'all's big boys.

You might need some glasses, as you misread my post. At no point did I mention anything about reporting anyone. I simply pointed out that this is a public forum. I also made mention (in not so many words) that your employer should not be asking its employees to bend/break federal regulations. That type of business practice is, at the very least, unethical. And at the most, illegal. The ticket would be yours, not the company's. And I would bet my next check that if you were ticketed, the company would feign ignorance.

Simply click on duty. You are on duty, but you’re not moving
That is not true. Legally if you are stuck in traffic behind the wheel of the vehicle in the travel portion of the road, you should be on the driving line. But hey, who’s telling....
