These new Peoplenet tablets being put into the new trucks sure do look like a real camera and not some type of light sensor like on the older units.

Camera's are not activated yet.Think you will see them in the near future used for accidents instead of the cameras we have now.Not sure on the front facing.But,they are a android device so I would think there is a camera on both sides
 
You reckon that will be a camera to watch drivers also when the blu has an event?
 
They posted a memo in dispatch telling driver's to stop placing black tape on the lens. They admitted they were cameras but we're not activated. The memo said it was considered defacing company property by covering the lens with the black tape.
 
If they don't want them covered, that means they're activated. These big wigs coming from suck companies bringing their snake oil policies with them. Remember when everyone freaked out about the blu light sensor? They told us to cover them up all we want, no big deal. Now with these, if they're covered they cannot spy on us.

No company is ever happy when you cover their cameras. This idea won’t be favorable with the gold palace either. Bet them stupid things recording us when there’s critical event. Lost my trust

Rumor has it, OD is making a video of their 3 favorite drivers, Larry, Curly and Moe, watch for it on the Disney channel on
your TV.

Had mine start recording from the avoidance system when I enter a roundabout turning right and come up on car in circle.Crazy,figure it would have stopped the tractor.lol.I cover mine because I can't stand the glare.

I hear Billy has a camera mounted on his mower too, so he can film people doing unsafe acts in terminal yards where he is mowing...
 
Some of ours are covered with "No Tobacco" stickers, every other one I have been in has covered with something.

No info from dispatch (or anyone else) about having them covered up. Time will tell.

I saw an article on them where a driver (not OD) covered his up and a message immediately came up on the BLU about a "coaching event" if it continued to be covered up.

I hope we don't end up going in that direction.

It's coming. We're getting leadership from all these companies that treat drivers like children and they're bringing their knowledge to our tables.
