Doesn’t stop the clock.Simply click on duty. You are on duty, but you’re not moving
You might need some glasses, as you misread my post. At no point did I mention anything about reporting anyone. I simply pointed out that this is a public forum. I also made mention (in not so many words) that your employer should not be asking its employees to bend/break federal regulations. That type of business practice is, at the very least, unethical. And at the most, illegal. The ticket would be yours, not the company's. And I would bet my next check that if you were ticketed, the company would feign ignorance.
SAIA and xpo are the only two companies using the vnomics. Their software also doesn’t stop the clock when you take your 30, so your loosing a 1/2 hour a day of work/drive time.
You’ve mentioned ratting out Saia drivers before and you implied it here. I think it’s funny how your still owned by Saia. There were some real turds in the ATL term years ago. I remember two getting pulled into a scale for overweight. Instead of reworking the load one driver managed to slide his tandems, the other driver went in and ratted him out to the weighmaster. They walked out and let him go, did a full DOT on the rat. Guess there’s one in every crowd, should be one less in our crowd though....
I'm bored, so why not...??? "Implied" means nothing. I made a statement saying that isn't right for your (or any) company to condone illegal behavior. And as far as being "owned" by Saia? Not really sure what that is supposed to "imply" (to use your term).
Drivers have a responsibility to follow the rules of the road as outlined by the Federal Government agency responsible for such, the DOT. If you want to run illegal, that is your choice. But if you get caught, it goes on your driving record and can be held against you. And if you are caught and try to fight it in court, there is zero chance that Saia (or any other company) would admit that you were told to do so. If running a legal company that follows the rules set forth by the DOT makes me a "turd", then so be it. My honesty, integrity, and driving history speak for themselves. How about you?
30+ years driving, over 20 with Saia, zero safety violations, zero csa points, and nothing more then a overweight ticket. Those are my creds.
You stated, “This is a public forum, and this will be brought to the attention of the Illinois and Indiana DOT.”
Not could, but ‘will’ be brought. That’s implied. I’m sure you were being honest about ratting other drivers out, I don’t doubt it one bit. Maybe you got canned for not minding your own business. It seems like a trend.
So, you actually think there is a difference between Republicans and Democrats? The point I was trying to make is, that great ex- president we had is the reason we have this stupid, liberal ELD now because of the people he put in charge of the DOT and FMCSA. Unfortunately, this administration is going along with the stupid rules of the previous administration. Also, I feel this law is going to make things worse on the highway, as drivers are now going to have to drive more miles in a shorter amount of time to get the freight delivered. You mean the Republican controlled Congress of 2015
I wasn’t terminated. I brought a lawsuit against your company that was settled out of court for a mutually agreed upon monetary amount. That number is confidential.
Let’s stay on point...your company’s system, policies, and procedures are flawed. I don’t think anyone could dispute that.
This new vnomics update is NOT a DOT regulation. All this mine/not mine crap is made up. Since when are you supposed to go on duty for starting a truck?
I think anytime that you are starting a truck you would be considered on duty. Think about it like this: If you get into a truck, start it, then slip while in the process of getting out of the truck and break an ankle, wouldn't you (the employee) say that you were on duty, so that Workman's Comp would pay? Work. Comp doesn't pay anything unless you are "on the clock" or "on duty".
I would think in that situation yo would be covered under comp, but a reasonable person would not report to his place of employment just to star a truck, it would be in preparation to go to work.I see what you’re saying but say you’re OTR shut down at a truck stop and in the middle of your break you have to use the bathroom or want to get something to eat? You don’t go on duty to get in and out of the truck. Companies don’t want you leaving the keys in the ignition so you starting/shutting down the engine is inevitable while off duty. I’ve never thought of that scenario but I would hope there are some sort of protections in place for that. And also all my trucker friends I explain this new update to they’re left scratching their heads. I don’t know of any other company with this mine/not mine crap lol.

Last time I checked it’s still the same 14 clock 11 hour drive if you’ve been doing it since the beginning there would be no bitch rightSo, you actually think there is a difference between Republicans and Democrats?
