ODFL | Showing Drivers Licenses

What is company policy on showing your license. I have a company ID BUT THEY WANTED MAKE A COPY OF MY DRIVER LICENSE at my delivery. Told them no you can not have a copy but hope you have a great day!
I'm with you. The fuzz doesn't even get it without a citation coming with it.

Good question, I have had deliveries refused because I would not produce my license. I do always offer my company ID as an alternative. My favorite are the customers that have security run your social security number. I just provide fake one and that works.

No company. And I mean NO COMPANY will get any ID other than whatever my company gives me. All this ID showing crap has led to the WORLDS LARGEST CRIME.......IDENTITY THEFT. And it’s growing by leaps and bounds. The bank I have dealt with for the past ten years demanded to see my ID while I was making a deposit from my part time job. I refused. They pushed the check and deposit slip back to me. I walked out and walked across the parking lot to their competition, asked if I needed to show iD to make a deposit after opening a account. Got a SOLID NO. WROTE A CHECK TO START MY ACCOUNT AND MADE A NOTATION ON THE CHECK TO CLOSE THIS ACCOUNT. Now my old bank is begging me to come back.

I have several places who ask for my license. I don't hand it over, I just read it with 1 number off. More places want a cell number too. I tell them I'm not going to be there long enuf for them to call. I know that if somewhere demanded to see my license and I refused I would have no one in the office on my side.

Sad and probably true.

I offered to show my US Passport. Yes, my Passport instead of my CDL. All said they would not accept a US Passport. Idiots beyond help. A US Passport is much harder to obtain than a CDL. You can copy my Passport all day long. It can have no bearing on my bank accounts. It does one thing only. And that is to show proof of who you are when entering another country. Want to go to Canada. Get out your Passport. Or Nexus. von.

Most people have no problem getting a passport, I'll bet the first words out of your mouth were " I drive for Coop Dispatch"
"I rest my case."

What are you linehaul drivers doing about hotels demanding ID? I haven't found a way around it, most will not accept a company ID.

well at my job in Maspeth we don't give drivers license to just anybody only government bldgs.,. postal police, and certain wall street location
you don't have to give your license company id is fine or don't do it

I thought you guys would have TWIC cards.
Thats what's used for ID.
TWIC card is nothing more than a tax for truck drivers to pay, every 8 years or so. I, like anyone else, had to get one, to be allowed to enter the North Carolina Ports. Once I got into each port, I was FORCED to buy an ID badge...$35.00 at EACH port, because they don't acknowledge TWIC cards as ID. Had I driven to any of the ports in Virginia, the process starts over again.
