Talked to a buddy of mine last night out of XYZ terminal he was taking hours in Richmond another SEFL road driver infront of him checking in also and he had uniform on well to make a long story short hotel maid asked the one driver in uniform made the comment you guys like to party he replies what's that supposed to mean she said well I cleaned a room this morning one of your coworkers stayed in and cleaned up a bottle of liquor and a couple beer cans guess you guys like to relax so this guy got that drivers name called Corp office in the lobby and told on him so just for future notice if you do have a relaxing adult beverage in the hotel be sure to throw that stuff away in a trash can outside the room due to the fact some folks can't mind there own business and keep to themselves hate to see anyone get in trouble or a hassle over something stupid like this so watch out
 
I'd definitely call in the SEFL driver who left a ::shit:: load of Sundrop bottles in the room...
 
If the driver was not driving then there is no problem, it's called an adult beverage for a reason. DOT says you have to quit drinking 4 hours before you return to work. Also unlike other ltl companies sefl drivers sit in the motel/bunk houses 12+ hours when out of town. Plenty of time to have a drink or 5 and sleep it off!

I'm totally with you and agree but there answer is southeastern is paying for the room that's the answer you will get from them but that being said they have had some issues in the past with drivers getting wasted in the hotel lol and it's not been a good situation and has ended up with a few free greyhound tickets home but beside that it's non of there business what goes on in the hotel room as long as it's not illegal JMO

The real story: The maids at that hotel are moonlighting hookers. Driver rejects old bag maid for someone half her age and prettier. The younger hooker was celebrating her birthday and getting a "todo la noche" from a clean, well paying handsome client, hence the booze. Trucker didnt have an ounce to drink and left well rested and with a big smile, further irritating old bag maid who tries to get him fired.
