FedEx Freight | New April raise!

I don't mind that the city drivers get more. At our barn they get zero overtime, so they are lucky to make 55,000 a year now. Our road drivers are making mid 90s to low 100s and some of us only put in 48 hrs a week.
City and road are both hourly out here with road having a higher rate. Road is all straight time. Our city guys get plenty of OT, to the point of complaining about it.

X stands to save gazillions with the tax break over the next few years. No sure if this was handled properly by moving the raise back to the initial April date. Guess time will tell
This is a ONE TIME move, presented as the benefit of the new Corp. Tax RATES.

This raise, 6 mouths early, provides a (windfall) benefit of between $1200-$1500, over the period. Next year will resort back to Oct.

This applies to those at the top tier for their location.

Not sure about the newer hires. I'll ask if/when we are ever told officially of the raise, at my location... City not told anything yet.

Less than a year.
There are step progressions for each of your first three years depending on which pay tier your center is on and each step increases by a different percentage. After 3 years you’re at top pay.

For example: if your center was at tier B (lowest), after 1 year your wage rate would be $22.73 city or $.5539 road...after two years it would be $24.28 city, $.5954 road

It's an insult to the road drivers, that we get a 2% raise, whilst the city folks get 4%, in the midst of the most severe driver shortage in the history of trucking.

Using your own mantra speaking to all the people that supported the union "if you don't like it here go somewhere else". Now that is over with, yes i do think the road drivers should have gotten the same percentage raise.

Why no cost of living raise in October? I thought this was a raise because they wanted to to share some of the tax breaks they got.
This is the cost of living raise. Your getting it now instead of October because of the tax breaks. $2.10 in raises in a 5 month span is a good thing if you ask me. I'll wait 2 1/2 years for another raise if they want to give me 2019's now.

Respectfully, I’m gonna have to disagree.

We must remember that the driver shortage also effects city drivers and the company has to attempt to bring the pay scales closer in order to retain quality city drivers, otherwise the majority of the city boards will be full of new hires while your road boards will be full of veterans...not exactly a smart business model IMO.

Like usual you are all over the place on this subject. The post below is from January 27th of this year. Lmao

The added dollar per hour is nice but it’s basically a slap in the face to road drivers, we’d like to see at least 2-3 cents more on the mile, that’s about what it would take to equal that dollar per hour raise percentage wise...just sayin’
