Then why even have s strike vote? Are they trying to scare the company? Most people are living paycheck to paycheck and couldn't even make it two weeks. Every company knows this so going on strike is no real big threat anymore.
I don't want to hijack this thread as I don't work for XPO have family and friends that do, any ways used to be one of the first things that happened in contract talks was to take a authoriziation for a strike vote, now this has been awhile ago does it mean they will or won't thats the unknown, i have been locked out / and on strike/ and even hate to say it worked thru 1 strike as our company was not picketed. Going on strike doesn't help anybody company or membership but some times it's the nature of the beast. I feel ABF is a long way from an impasse on the talks yet, will it be done before it expires probably not. Any ways everybody stay safe warmer weather is coming some day

I got the letter from XPO about the employee stock purchase program. Under eligible employees, it’s say “unless you are enrolled in a collective bargaining agreement that would prohibit the purchase”.

A) I didn't think there were any union agreements within XPO.

B) Why would a CBA prevent this?

I know I’m going to regret this..

A) Only North America Xpo locations are not covered by CBA’s most of Europe if not all are under Union contract.

B) if not negotiated into a contract it wouldn’t be available to union employees.

Hope that answers your question and please letter be noted that I answered it. I don’t want to here it later that it wasn’t. ;)
Take care

Hellfire and brimstone have been released... and they thought it was going to stop it but they only fueled the fire.

Thank you. I wasn’t thinking of Europe.

Your answer was noted. Hopefully they won’t be so difficult in the future.

Contract isn't even close to being presented to the membership yet, kinda hard to strike on something you have nothing to strike over yet. And they won't strike on the first proposals any way's. They can vote it down and send them back to the tables again for something better, I know it took 3 time for us in carhaul, stop licking your chops over something that has even come close to happening yer

I am terrified of any work stoppage any where else. We don't need any more to do. Plenty busy, and short handed.

Not to mention the endless extensions and future discussions that prolong negotiations.

Strike authorization is just a way for the union to gauge the rank and file. Are they taking this seriously ? Are they going to show up and vote ? It's not a threat against anything. It's a barometer.

Wouldn't say only North America. I would hedge that Asian locations and many others are not union. This is an incredibly large company.

No argument that an equally massive amount of the company is in a bargaining unit.

The changes to bereavement pay has shaken a large number of company blow hards. People are now openly arguing for and against working here. The massive pay increases at the competition has also unsettled the masses. I am literally shocked ain't nobody been shot yet. People are fighting mad. It's gonna get crazy. If it ain't getting there already.

Me personally, I am disappointed every day I pull up to that gate and it's still open. I know it's only a matter of time. And at this point, I am looking forward to it.

With all of the positive results for 4th quarter and for the prior year , plus the overall economy has been doing well , it seems super effed up that the upper management has been ULTRA silent on wage increases/benefits improvements/bonuses.

I understand from several sources that our 2018 raise is being pushed back to mid to late 2nd quarter. Have you guys heard anything similar?

End of the second quarter is the word on the street. Still nothing solid on how much. But with the way they keep taking ::shit:: away..... peoples dreams of a big raise have already fizzled. Companies interested in rewarding their employees stepped up and did so immediately. XPO has done nothing and said nothing. People have taken this to mean we will get more of the same. A token raise that is more than off set by losses to PTO and health care. This work environment is toxic.

Most people I talk to don't think that PTO for legacy employees will be altered. I see it being "aligned" with the other business units soon.
Then 2019 raise will be postponed until Sept and so on. This place is a dumpster fire.

I heard we will get a 9% raise. Take it with a grain of salt, I heard it through the line haul network. We are going to keep up with the competition.

Well then is settled 9% it is...if it came out of line haul its gotta to be true. Let me guess a driver out of Cinnaminson.

Makes for a better rumor if he heard it from a driver out of XAH. Ann Arbor, Michigan. What’s left of the palace that is XGO, sits next door.
