the word that I am hearing is no pension and some work rule changes. Also don't be suprised to see them ask for other benefits to be cut. Health and welfare is not on the table as far as I know. Just don't be suprised to see them ask for holidays or vacations back. They want to alter the contract so it works for them and not us.
Now just where is the fun in that? For some of us this is all thats left. :smilies-19296:How 'bout we just wait and see what the 'Real' offer is. Because the only ones who 'really' know are the ones in the meetings.
When the first givebacks started,YRCW knew they could get away with anything they wanted to. They now know that the union and the membership will bend over backwards to accomodate the company. All they have to do is take a little at a time away from the workers until they get what they want. Believe it or not,the work rules have already started on the downslide. The only way to stop this is to draw a line in the sand on Jan.1 and demand to go back to the original contract language. Do the union leaders have the backbone to do this? I don`t know.
We already voted on it. 15% until 2013, reenter the fund at a negotiated rate. Easy enough, don't ya think? In fact why if they fulfill the MOU, would we get another vote? It never said reenter at full rate.I got's to ask this of you . Do you want the Union Leaders to make a discussion and not let you have the right to vote on it ? I know I would want the right to VOTE on anything that affects me !!!!!!!!

Ok I get it now.My point is what ever happens at least THE EMPLOYEES get the right to vote on it ! Did any of the Non-Union company employees get a right to vote on there losing there 401k programs ? Did any of the Non-Union company employees get a right to vote on there pay cuts ? That's what I was posting about .

Absolutely the members should have the right to vote on any changes to the contract, work rules or anything else affecting their jobs. Our union leaders were in favor of the concessions and pension suspensions that were voted on and in some cases brought these issues to a vote 2 or 3 times to get the results the company wanted. I think it`s time for our union leaders to take a stand in favor of restoring the wages and pensions that were given back to YRC to help them out of this downturn. I think they should work just as hard to restore the wages and pension as they did to get the votes to approve these concessions. All this is subject to opinion and this is mine.
