SEFL | Trade War?

I read in another article that the US is considering tariffs on automobiles and or parts coming from Canada. This won’t affect my company much since we don’t dabble in automotive freight, however other ltls are heavy in automotive. Holland for example. Prices on goods are about to shoot up if this trade war stuff doesn’t stop. IMO trump will get a good deal or he won’t play.

Trump is not starting a trade war. Thats the media interpetation. He is only trying to get trade equal. If another country restricts our products or puts tariffs on the product, then the U.S.A. will do like wise. Other countries cant stand the idea of having equal and fair trade. They have screwed us for so long, they think its thier right to do so.
 
As far as freight goes, I don't think it will make much difference. Something should have been done about trade 40 years ago, it may take a little pain to straighten it out now but the way it is can't continue.
 
Trade war is regulated by how bad you need their freight, & how bad they need yours. And most important, how much are you willing to pay. Very simple. First 2 minutes of any University economics class will convince you of that. Anything else, is just someone trying to justify their salary. von.
