SAIA | Hiring Current Union Employees

Unfortunately union jobs are the lowest paying in the industry. Often with the oldest rolling garbage for equipment and filthy terminals...
They take their dues paying members for fools, collecting monthly dues to make the union goons rich.
Not sure if I'd want to hire anyone that dumb....

Old Puffy Boy, you may be right, I probably am the dumbest Teamster here on TB.
I paid union dues from 1957 to 1990, however, I managed to put a son thru UNC, a daughter thru N.C
State.
When they graduated, neither owed a red cent.
For this I am thankful to those Teamster Goons and PIE's filthy garbage trucks, that made this possible.
I have also been thankful each month for 28 yrs for the check I receive, this would not have been possible if
not for those goons.
Since you have been saving all this dues money, I hope you and your family can be in the same boat when you
retire.
Then again, if it's a Teamster Boat, you probably wouldn't like the ride.

You come from a generation in which the Teamsters made a difference. If today’s Teamsters stood for what they did in your generation I would probably support them. But today’s Teamsters are just a shadow of their former selves. Surely you can see that. I just can’t support what they have become. It’s as simple as that. You’re ship (boat) floated and I would have enjoyed the ride. But today's ship (boat) hit an iceberg and I think we know how that turned out.

Even a RAT would jump a sinking ship.

Train, generation has absolutely nothing to do with Puffy's statement, neither does, if you do or don't support
them.
You know the old saying about opinions, we all have one, I just think Puffy putting all us eggs in his dumb basket might need rethinking.
I'm willing to bet good money there are Teamsters here on TB that match, or maybe better his
driving record, employment record or even match his finacial status.
I guess I'm lucky I don't need to knock on his door begging for a job, I'd be SOL

“Generation” was a poor word choice. You worked for Teamster leaders that put the members first. Today’s Teamster leaders work for themselves and they come first. Surely you can see that much.

If the union LTL jobs are so great why do they pay less??
This thread is about non union companies hiring union drivers. If union jobs are so terrific why isn't the union protecting their own members???

The standard reply for the pros will be the pension and free healthcare, job security by not being hired “at will” ...... and blah..blah..blah..blah. Sorry, it’s not enough. The downside outweighs the upside.

I’ve quoted numerous rebuttals to your non union views with no reply in return from you.
I get sick of going over the same ::shit:: over and over. It’s totally redundant and pointless. However since you want to feel some love then pick a thread and quote me and I will reply.

Guess I was mistaken again, thought I read a post that stated Teamsters were so dumb, you wouldn't hire them.
I was wondering if you could tell us how to become smart as you?, maybe, just maybe, you could get us out of your basket.
I'm having a lot of trouble sleeping since being dumped me in your dumb basket, I'm sure other Teamsters are
losing sleep also.

You do realize that UPS is a union company don't you? You also realize that companies like Holland Yellow and Roadway were awesome companies to work for ten or twenty years ago? You do realize that fifteen years ago most of these companies would have not even given a guy like you an application! Yes YRC has really screwed things up lately but please don't try and group all union companies together and imply that those drivers are dumb!
Thank you for your defense.. I am a ups freight driver.. I think we get paid a good penny $28.70 per hour and.72cpm so yes we are some of the lowest paid..oh yeah my pension
