Me and my friend are interested in team driving and OD seems like a good company. I haven't been able to find much info on this at all, only like two threads on other forums that were from awhile back.

Will they hire two guys with 16 months of exp but no doubles or team exp?

What's the starting/top pay and how does the pay scale work?

How much do team drivers make their first year?

Do you get to choose toyour schedule? I've seen people say you work 5 days off and 2 off or you'll be "wild" which is staying out on the road?

I live in GA and looked on the website for terminals in ga but I don't see any team positions opened. I do see "Road Drivers" and was wondering if we got hired on as a solo would we be able to switch to team when a position opens up?

If we started as a team and decided to solo would we be transferred to the solo department right away or we would have to wait for an opening and apply?

What kind of trucks the team drivers use?

How many miles can we expect to get weekly?

Sorry if this is a long post, I haven't been able to find much info on this subject that's recent. thanks guys!

Most team drivers in GA run out of Atlanta that would be good place to start, as for starting team pay I'm guessing $.65-68 cpm Most teams I know make 110k+. Tractors are mostly Freightliners with a few Volvos thrown into the mix mostly set @ 64mph.

So many questions, just apply and find out. Judging by how dumb some of them are they hire just anyone.

Thanks man! Do you know if there's a certain person I have to talk to at the ATL terminal about the position? Called a few times today and got the same lady that pretty much sends me to a dead line after I tell her why I was calling.

Will they hire two guys with 16 months of exp but no doubles or team exp? They typically want 2 years, but the terminal manager may go for it. I had 10yrs driving and no doubles when hired. You have to have doubles/triples, tanker, and hazmat endorsments

What's the starting/top pay and how does the pay scale work? Starting is dependent on experience. I started at .65 cpm split 5 years ago with 10 years driving. Top is .7479 right now. Takes 2 years to top out.

How much do team drivers make their first year? Depends on how much you run, how long you choose to stay out, whether your scheduled or wild. My first full year (not topped out) was $94k running wild.

Do you get to choose toyour schedule? I've seen people say you work 5 days off and 2 off or you'll be "wild" which is staying out on the road? Depends on the terminal. They may want you on a scheduled route or let you run wild. Either way you can do your restart at home. Some choose to do their restart in a hotel. 5 days out gets you 48hrs off. Scheduled runs are more dedicated routes/days. You leave the same day every week while wild is any terminal nation wide without a set schedule

Apply and tell them you'd like team on your app or if they call you. You can switch to solo, but seniority plays a role. If there are bid runs available those senior to you get first dibs and you may get stuck on extraboard. They may also make you run team for a certain time period before they allow you to switch.

If we started as a team and decided to solo would we be transferred to the solo department right away or we would have to wait for an opening and apply? You could go solo linehaul, but it wouldn't be right away. They'd probably make you wait till they do their bids and again seniority plays a role

What kind of trucks the team drivers use? Mostly freightliners. Single bed. Downtime over 4hrs and restarts are at home or in a hotel

How many miles can we expect to get weekly? I've never done scheduled runs, but I typically hear 5500-6000. I run wild and we try to run our hours out & try to hit 7000-7300 by the time we get home

Your results/experiences may vary. Different terminals have different rules/procedures.
