SAIA | Now that I’m retired .... let’s expose the truth!

Why don't you read the entire thread over Phil. Seems you either have a short term memory or lack comprehension.

Nope. I’m well aware of all of the whining. Spent over 20 years with the company. They don’t owe you a damn thing more then your paycheck every week. They are not responsible for your happiness. It’s not up to them to make sure your feelings don’t get hurt. If your a miserable person you’ll always find misery, doesn’t matter where you go. You are responsible to make yourself happy. They told you when you got hired what the pay was. You knew when you hit certain milestones you would get more vacation, better run selection, free insurance, etc... When things change you can always make a choice to stay or leave but you choose to stay. Why? I did it because all the BS was worth the money and the benefits. Why do you stay? If it’s no longer worth it to you see if your good enough to make it somewhere else. You all seem to possess so much knowledge and talent it should be a breeze for you, or is it that you don’t think your good enough to go anywhere else and you need someone to hold your hand? It’s gotta be one or the other.

Don’t misunderstand me Phil. Just because I may vent on here doesn’t mean I don’t understand the big picture about happiness. I’m very happy and for those that have enough patience to watch this video will understand why I’m a happy person. I don’t take this site serious at all. It has nothing to do with my happiness. Happiness is an inside job. Keep it real Phil. It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves at times, but yet it is not possible to find it elsewhere. Live a simple life. Be temperate in your habits. Avoid self-seeking and selfishness. Make simplicity the keynote of your daily plans. Simple things are best. Have a hobby. Hunting and fishing. Nature study, walking, gardening, music, golfing, carpentry, sketching, foreign language, books, and my favorites ...... social service and public speaking. I cultivate an avocation to which I can turn for diversion and relaxation. I give generously. There is no greater joy in life than to render happiness to others by means of intelligent giving. Carry on Phil.

Don't preach about happiness. At least not to me.

Nope just to keep you coming back!

I’m pretty sure Phil is former management. He sort of tipped his hand with his accumulation of stock. Most drivers don’t buy stock. They stick with the 401K. His attitude also is a dead give away as far as I’m concerned. His arrogance really shines through.

Nope driver all the time. Having trouble posting pic so I added my last safety award as my avatar. Hope it took. I’ve bought a lot of things because I’m wise with my money and my wife is better with it. I’m not ‘most’ people.

Well, congratulations on that excellent achievement. There’s no need to continue back and forth with the negative banter. I will say that we all have the right to express our views on this site. Sometimes things are put in a negative context when actually they are not. The media is a prime example with the Trump, Kavanaugh circus. No man knows what’s in another’s man heart. They can only speculate. This company is not all bad but they are certainly not all good either. I’m on the outside looking in now just like you. If I want to speak about the inequities here that’s a personal decision. It does absolutely no good in changing anything here but it is my right to speak my perceived truth. I hate to see full grown men become doormats out of fear. They have the right to leave but many are simply trapped with too much debt and can’t leave like we did. This thread will fade away just like me and you. Both of us have better things to do than come here and defend or not defend this company. I started in LTL in 1973 and worked most of my career at Overnite (UPS) and have much to be thankful for. I’ve been a company man for most of my life. As I ride off into the sunset if I want to express myself in not so much a positive way then that’s my right. I’ve paid my dues and have earned that. If it appears I’m bitter then that would be wrong. Actually I'm the exact opposite. But only I would know that. The rest would be speculation. No two men are the same.

How low can this ::shit:: hole go? I’m sure it will rebound but as of right now it’s not looking good. Could be layoffs this year or maybe 2019 if the market keeps sliding. Everything will depend on the 3rd quarter numbers coming out October 31st.
