I have some friends & a relative who own shops & are very honest & try to be helpful. Scenarios similar to this happens quite often. They say often the customer has very expensive wheels/tires & accessories but won't spend for basic vehicle maintenance.

I've been told some wheels are so expensive, they actually lease them!
 
I absolutely LOVE seeing/watching people doing things repetitively expecting (?) different results.
The Learning Curve for him and others like him is obviously a narrow and straight FLAT LINE.

I like the frying pan manuever, then he states "one should be aware of ones surroundings".

It is my understanding that anything left in storage units becomes the property of the unit owner if payments are not made in a timely manner. If the payments are delinquent like unpaid property taxes the owner loses all rights to ownership. I think the storage operator is required to notify the renter of intentions to sell the property much like vehicles that are stored with unpaid storage/towing fees. There is usually a notice put in the local newspaper before vehicles are auctioned to recover storage/towing fees. The notice states that the owner has until a set time & date to claim ownership & pay the bill. After that time the owner is not entitled to take possession.
If the money was not stolen whoever paid the highest bid or paid an agreed on price has every right to ownership. I find it difficult to believe anybody would forget about the location of $7 million . I suspect this might be a publicity stunt to draw interest to the program.

yes, here in my local newspaper, there is always a full page or 2 of any and all auctions..be they foreclosure, or property, or storage units. i personally have seen ads in the paper informing the people in arrears that there will be an auction at such and such a time", if payment in full is not made prior.

to me, i'd never give up that money, but then too, if it is mob or gang or drug money......you won;t have to give it up, they will find you and kill you.

to me, it was downright stupid to store that much money in a storage unit, and not in a bank safety deposit boxe(s).

so that amount of money is highly suspicious to me.
